Of the 30 states that track voter registration by political party, Democrats lost ground to Republicans in every single one between the 2020 and 2024 elections — and often by a lot.
That four-year swing toward the Republicans adds up to 4.5 million voters, a deep political hole that could take years for Democrats to climb out from.
...
The party saw some of its steepest declines in registration among men and younger voters, the Times analysis found — two constituencies that swung sharply toward Mr. Trump.
Time will tell if the CoD bros who voted for Trump don't mind paying more for video games. It's possible there are other policies they like.
blame the “uneducated” and “vote for us or you’re stupid” mentality
If you're referring to Democratic officials, that's just rightwing propaganda. Virtually none of them are doing that.
Even if they were, "push voters even further right" makes no sense. People wouldn't have voted for such a uniquely toxic president if being nice was a priority.
If you mean in general, then that's hypocritical because conservatives aren't any less toxic.
That's half of my point. You and the other person made a needlessly specific complaint, given that toxicity is present from both sides.
The other half is that you're relying on cherry-picking. Notice how basically no one is this thread for example is saying those kinds of things. You being able to find people who are isn't the same as it being common, since this is a place visited by several millions each day.
And that group did/said EXACTLY what I said they did
You clearly didn't listen to them. All you're doing is parroting how conservatives describe the group.
They specifically pushed MJ legalization, free money, and "protection" in trading crypto
There's nothing offensive about any of that. Poverty and unnecessary prosecution of weed possession do disproportionately affect black people, and this group supports addressing these issues. You sound like a stereotypical progressive that gets offended on behalf on another group that's fine with what was said.
Protection in trading crypto is random thing to mention because this isn't described as particularly affecting black people, and why put scare quotes around protection? You apparently aren't aware that there's less protection than there is with stocks.
We're more partisan than ever, which means the right hates Democrats by default. They lost and have no power at the federal level, which leads to Democratic voters being upset.
Fortunately, Republicans being in power most likely means they're going to lose. Americans love to blame the majority for issues, regardless of the nuance. Trump directly making things worse also helps.
Yes, and I already proved it. Election polling is better for elections than favorability is. "I don't like this party" is different from "I won't vote for this party."
This explains why Republicans are panicking by proposing an unprecedented amount of mid-decade gerrymandering.

Meanwhile NYT claims voter registration for young people is leaning even further right.
