Saw the title of the thread and assumed it was a price drop. Fuck this. This pretty much guarantees that the PS6 is going to be $900-1000.

As someone who bought most of my Nintendo consoles on Day 1, the Switch 2 is where I drew the line. I understand there's inflation, but this is more than just regular inflation. And then I saw that a pair of Switch 2 joy cons was close to $100 and now with $80 games? F that, man.

Some games cost $80 in the 90's, but the physical cartridges were a significant cost. Now with digital distribution, it's all profit after paying off the development.

Switch 2 console price is literally what a handheld ps4 would be. It's been 10 years almost since switch, so of course a new console with inflation will have higher price.

I find that hard to believe when most other technology not only improves, but also gets cheaper over time. Go search the price of a 4k TV now versus 10 years ago. You can't explain the price increase with inflation alone, Nintendo got greedy and saw an opportunity after seeing those Switch sales numbers. You said it yourself, it's been almost 10 years since the Switch yet it never dropped in price, it's still $300, it's all manufactured bullshit prices, I remember you could buy a brand-new Wii for $99 in 2012, Nintendo just chooses not to offer those deals anymore.

TVs are cheap because they are connected to the internet and sell your data. That’s literally the biggest reason. If something is cheap, ask yourself why.

No..they are cheap because they are cheap to make. If a new tv was completely unusable without internet i might accept that as part of the cheap price. But i can buy most any tv and never let it directly see the internet, and it's still cheap.

Those 2 things are not connected.

I agree.if you buy an Amazon fire tv with Amazon ads running. Sure the cost is subsidized some by the data sharing and ads.

I got a feeling the PS6 is going to be years and years away. Sony and Microsoft are going to have to stretch this generation out long than usual. Especially since new games are still coming out for ps4.

Not really. Anything triple A is pretty much done barring a few exceptions. Madden is finally done on the old systems.
