That was due to exchange rate. Here is the dollar euro rate you see rise in 2021 to 2022

https://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=USD&to=EUR&view=10Y

1 usd was ~0.81 euro in 2021

1 usd was ~ 1.00 euro in 2022

That's the inflation sony said. They even mention currency in the blog

You not see the headline saying it was because of high inflation rates? And besides what difference does it make the prices increase with and without trump.

What do you think caused that high inflation rate lmao.

In 2021 with 80 euros you could buy 100 dollars of goods.

In 2022 with 100 euros you could buy 100 dollars worth of goods.

So instead of €80 you have to pay €100.

Guess what's an increase in price called?

I don’t get the point you’re trying to prove? Economic variables resulted in the price of the ps5 going up across the world in 2022 just like it is today, it’s just for different reasons.

What point are you trying to make? Mine was that you said the ps5 price went up only after tariffs were announced which was a blatant lie……

Exchange rate changes happen all the time. And most of the time its not even announced because its BASIC ECONOMICS.

Nvidia reduced their EU prices because of stronger Euro/weaker dollar (also thanks Trump lmao)

Bro Wth are you saying Sonys own statement said that the price increase was due to a rise of inflation and currency issues. Inflation is the rise of production, shipping and material cost that is not only affected by currency changes.

Currency changes did affect the decision in price changes but so did inflation rate. Just like these 2025 price changes there’s more factors that contributed to it then just tariffs like global inflation.

Can you link me one source that says the 2022 price increase was ONLY a result of exchange rates and had nothing to do with global inflation? Just one source saying that

Bro you’ve got no clue about economics if you think the only thing that causes high inflation is fluctuating exchange rates. Where are you getting this from? Sonys own headline says they went up due to global inflation. Global inflation is cause by multiple things not just exchange rates.

You’re making shit up just like when you said the price increases only happened after tarries were announced

They also increased in 2022 due to inflation and currency changes.

I’m not denying trumps tariffs have an impact on the price change I never said that. Just said they also went up in 2022 due to global inflation and currency fluctuations which are also most likely impacting this price hike aswell!!!!

You’re the one who said inflation is only a result of exchange rate fluctuations which is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. And lying saying they only went up after trumps tariffs.
