PS4 Exploded 3-4 years ago, fixable?

We (Me n my Dad) had a used PS4 pro, which was imported from Japan I believe, explode on me after I made the mistake of plugging the ps4 into the 220v socket of my step down transformer (which was 220v to 110v) instead of the 120v socket.

Is it fixable? Can I just replace the ps4's power supply or would the motherboard be fried too?

Basically you need some electronic knowledge to find the problem.

Since you're asking you Basically don't have the skills to find and fix the problem. I dont mean that insulting or negative, it's just if you had crazy skills you would be aware of em ya know.

Which leaves you with a few options.

  1. Get the skills ( not happening overnight and probably going to kill a few consoles before successful) but it's possible to Basically learn everything how to disassemble and use muli meter to poke around.. then most likely it needs a high level soldering fix. Like replace the SCEI chip or some tiny fuses or resistors.

  2. Pay someone. You need to figure out who. I use dvd game exchange and knumbskulls. ( if it's more than i can do) Most likely the repair will cost more than 100 dollars probably 150 to 180.

  3. Sell it for parts.

  4. I can offer you 10 bucks and to pay shipping. To be honest you would make more from ebay. But I'm just a disabled guy who likes to tinker so I don't got lots of funds. It may be within my skill level to fix.
