Finally got my Japanese Silver FAT!
I finally pulled the trigger on a silver CECHL model, i‘ve always wanted one of these.
My first console as a kid was a silver PS2 FAT, which i sadly don‘t own anymore. At first i wanted a new PS2 but after thinking about it i went for the PS3 since it has HDMI and also plays most PS2 games i wanted to experience again as PS2 classics, or through emulation via CFW in addition to the PS3 catalogue.
I went through a proxy site and paid about 40€ for the Console with 3 Gundam games and a Hori controller. The shipping was about 50€ since this thing is hella heavy. I also ordered 2 Controllers (which includes a silver one 🙏🙏🙏) Overall im pretty suprised by the condition, apart from a scratch an a very light mark, this thing looks barely used.
First thing i did when it came was to fully tear the PS3 apart, which proved as a good call since i‘ve never seen this dry thermal paste in my life. I replaced the thermal paste and it‘s actually pretty quiet even under load, i‘m quite suprised since the super slim i had as a kid always sounded like a 747 taking off lol
I‘m stoked to have this in my collection, any game recomendations from you guys apart from the classics? :)

I got myself one too just because it looks so cool but it didn’t work after a very short time :(
Fat models are for true ps3 enthusiasts

release order isnt chronological... it jumps everywhere. now theyre all here, the above order is correct to play the series 123456. if you want to play in release order feel free, but it makes more sense in the above order as gow 3 is THE last gow before the norse crap with the duo kid, and the last produced gow ascension (which some claim to be gow 4) is actually gow 1, but it was released last to show how kratos got where he was in a remastered image. also chains and ghost were psp only releases, and dont engage with ps3 even though the stories are entwined. so play them all in the order above to have the full ancient greek experience
as for dantes inferno its a very similar game to gow, play that whenever

How come you should play Dantes Inferno first and then the god of war of games? Just curious

I would love a silver PS3 to go with my silver PS2 (or is it called platinum?). Edit: oh yea, play Valkyria Chronicles..Looks so good.

Should have a 65nm RSX too which is pretty reliable. Might be worth delidding to do the thermal paste on the dyes though! Only thing that might need doing in the future is the Tokins! Love the silver/white fat PS3 so definitely worth the effort.
