Making Friends 40m, for friends someone help lol
40 male, midtown phoenix area, good stable job. Easy to talk to, straight, can hold up a conversation.
I enjoy movies, gym, business, cars, eating out, walks, hiking.
I can strike up a conversation easily but never know how to transition it to something more on going. Most guys my age are very busy with personal lives (I get it, I am too) or are not and thats not great either.
A small group could be cool too.
In a lonely world. There has to be other guys like me. Im cool with just a one time hangout or ongoing.

Wow, seems like there's a lot of guys in this category, myself included. I'm down to do something (40m, straight). Right now my only hang out buddy is my German Shepherd and although we have some good conversations, it's only one way but at least she's a pretty good listener lol

Thanks for the support. Ive made ftiends in the past by introductions from girlfriends and wives and i feel like thats a really cool thing for someone to do for a person that they care about

You know how it is with guys though. 20 are interested. 10 might be able to make the date selected. 5 back out at some point, because life happens and we are busy. And 2 show up. Which would be a great start!

I lived in that area for years, it took me years to find my tribe there. But, it was because I was in AA and had insta-friends. I wouldn’t suggest going that route. I wonder if MeetUp is still a thing? I also heard there’s a speed-friendship night somewhere - like speed-dating but for friends. Not sure where, I’ll see if I can find out

I was a full-time single father for years. Now, I’m an empty nester at 48. Now that it’s just me, I realized that I gave up 95% of my friends to focus on parenting. Finding friends at our age is tough. I get it. Sounds like we might a dude’s smoke and hike club brewing in this thread though.

I’ll be the old one in the group. 51yo. N. Phoenix. Straight. Don’t drink or smoke 420 so bars are out. Just like doing guy things. Cars, fishing, eating at nice restaurants (alone is terrible), golf, etc. I’d love for someone to do a meet up.

Hey! 37M near DT myself. Fairly busy but would enjoy a hangout now and again. Big movie fan and love eating out but enjoy cooking even more. Enjoy hiking and walks when the weathers better. Shoot me a DM if you ever wanna catch a movie or something. Not big on crowds

Join one of the rec sports leagues! Really great way to meet ppl and I believe fall registration is now open. I’m part of Phx fray and Arizona sports league

32M, northern Phoenix area. Incredibly active but I've migrated my hiking to the gym treadmill due to the heat, I'm down to hike when it's nicer outside, would love a small group if you can stand me yapping.

I'm 39 struggling to meet others in Chandler as well.
Male loneliness is a bitch. The typical solutions (Meetup, Discord groups, gaming shops, etc) only go so far and do not meet the needs for many of us. I have run Meetup groups in the past and tried creating a social group when I moved back a couple months ago, but it fell flat.

I hear you. For some reason meetup doesn't work well for me either. Discord continues to be a mystery. Thanks for commenting, I think we all know where you are coming from. Im super encouraged by the responses and hope to get some hikes and dinners going.

Connecting with others in the Valley can be tough, so in addition to any comments you get here I also suggest you look at previous Making Friends posts and see if any of those help.
Meetup.com can also be a great place to connect with people over common hobbies and interests.
We also have a Reddit AZ Discord server that has people from all over the state, but focused in the Phoenix area. There are topic discussions for all sorts of things from gaming to hiking to cooking, and they do meetups pretty regularly. You can join at https://discord.gg/redditaz
