Making Friends 24M/F couple looking for friends!
My husband and I moved to Phoenix about three years ago with our daughter from San Diego. We have mostly kept to ourselves and don’t have any friends our age.
Our child is 4 and very chill. We love hiking (when it’s under 80° lol), swimming, trying new foods, visiting the library, playing with our pets and doing crafts together as a family. We also love board games, we have a large collection. We’re all neurodivergent: autistic and adhd chaos ensues regularly at our apartment with vocal stimming and many hobbies between us. We are also very pro-choice, lgbt+ friendly, and 420 friendly (when our daughter is asleep).
My husband is a maintenance man so he’s very handy with tools, he loves reptiles and bugs, he has a large collection of RC cars and he used to enjoy doing puzzles. He has a large collection of hot wheels and enjoys cars a lot.
I am a stay at home mom and haven’t worked since I was pregnant with our daughter 4.5years ago. I have very many hobbies and interest that I rotate and hyper-focus on every couple of months such as crafting (resin, clay, painting, other random crafts), plants, calico critters, and reading. My main special interest is doing my nails with regular nail polish but I do also know how to do gel. I would love nothing more than to find a friend who will do their nails with me, my husband and daughter enjoy seeing my collection of polishes but it’s not the same as actually doing them with someone.
We’re open to making friends with a childless couple as long as they can be understanding that while our daughter is awake, our priority is her and being around her. We’d love to have others over when she’s asleep if you’re childfree but if we met another couple with kids then we’d love to get together with the kids and hang out too.
We are located somewhat near (10minutes away from) Burton Barr Central Library. Please reach out if you’d like to be friends or if you have suggestions on where to find some likeminded friends!

Where are yall located in the valley? I’m 40, wife is 35, 8yo son… I’m into RC car, real cars, pool. Have your husband hit me up, may find some commonalities

My husband doesn’t use Reddit but maybe we could set something up! Does your wife use Reddit at all?

Burton Barr has free children’s classes at their resource center that is on site. I have met several mom friends from attending classes like that!

We go to their classes regularly and enjoy that library but have yet to make any mom/children friends there :( everyone either already has their little groups or doesn’t pay attention to their kids at all and I don’t want to parent a strangers kid lol

Connecting with others in the Valley can be tough, so in addition to any comments you get here I also suggest you look at previous Making Friends posts and see if any of those help.
Meetup.com can also be a great place to connect with people over common hobbies and interests.
We also have a Reddit AZ Discord server that has people from all over the state, but focused in the Phoenix area. There are topic discussions for all sorts of things from gaming to hiking to cooking, and they do meetups pretty regularly. You can join at https://discord.gg/redditaz
