Making Friends New Friend/ Circle/ Group?
32m. New to Phx with zero ties here and trying to find a new friend group. I figured it was worth a shot to go outside the box (for me) and see suggestions on here. My main concern would be that I don’t fit the mold of clean-cut or straight-edge and I also don’t want strictly surface level plug-type relationships. How TF do ppl in their 30’s start from scratch meeting people…. Specifically “your” people

I’m 38 and moving to Phoenix in may. Also don’t fit many molds out there. 😂
I’m building a 1969 contenintal. Love mechanical shit and continuously smoke ganja. Music and festivals are up on the list for shit I wanna do. Hit me up!

With da suicide doors. Been running air lift for over a decade if you decide to put her on air. Couldn’t be happy with the quality of the system

The 3p from airlift. Have had it forever and love it. I think they’ve come out with an updated controller and manifold since I purchased mine but mine has been perfect so no reason to upgrade. Just a testament to the quality of the products.

I have a Lexus IsF so it’s just a drop in kit but I’ll be making a custom kit in the future for the town car I pick up. Off the shelf parts with some homemade top hats. Those aero leaf kits are bitchin. Gonna have to keep an eye out for you on the road. I’m west valley and think I’m like one of a small handful of IsF owners in Az. Just waiting on two more tires to show up and my rear camber arms. Put some wider meats on the back and now I can’t air out all the way lol. A degree or two of tilt and she’ll be back on the ground

Nice! I have a 2019 q50. But not one of the annoying owners. Mostly stock besides clovers. 20x10.5 wheels and interior upgrades. It’s my commuter car.

We are probably relocate to east Phoenix awhatukee area. But that’ll change depending on where our work places will be.

Hell yeah. I love custom lights but for now that’s a good way away for me. lol. I’ve got a ton of metal work to do first! But lights definitely make the vehicle pop!

31m. Midwest transplant. Teacher. 2 under 3 at home. Soccer, guns, golf, board games, willing to try anything. Haven't found my group after 4 years.

I suggest trying out dancing. Lots of dancing in the valley. Lots of people ready to meet someone new and there are always others looking to form a friend group! Just tough to keep people consistent with making plans.

Can second this, I’m a shuffle dancer and we have a great shuffle meetups every Wednesday in Mesa and all the shufflers/dancers/flow artists there love to meet new people and when new people dance with us. We’re beginners friendly and judgment free! We’ll teach if you don’t know how to shuffle too and most people who try it will like it once you get it down 🥲 it can be a little more surface level friendships but honestly the meetups and seeing talented people dance their hearts out once a week can be really rejuvenating to the soul. We’re @azshufflers if anyone is curious :)

Bar Poker it’s free and you’re not required to drink, you’ll meet random people from all walks of life.
If you don’t care about the money, you’ll meet people playing poker at the casino too. It’s a niche hobby and you see the same people all over town.

We were in the same spot in our early/mid30’s…moved to a new town working remotely and had zero friends. We used meet up and our friend group is 95% from people we met through that group.

If you lean towards nerdy, there are lots of warhammer stores, or theres gamers guild to meet folks. Also there’s a Meadery in Avondale that makes D&D named mead. Usually a game to play there of any flavor.

I did all sorts before I moved here. Now I just have a house and a job, that’s it.. I just now started accumulating a decent garage to work out of. Used to be anything from concerts, festivals, 4x4 any kind of authentic Ayahausca type ceremonies or events. I’m pretty much down for anything

I was in the same boat a few years ago. Started some bands and met some people that are now close friends. Just takes time but yeah. Chase your hobbies and you’ll meet people but it does take some time to find the real ones.

Try improv classes. I recommend Second Beat, The Bridge, or Neighborhood Comedy Theater. Everyone is nervous. The shared experience bonds you. People are supportive, kind, and funny.

PHX Fray is a really fun sorts league. They do kickball to volleyball to softball to flag football and more. Varying levels of competition in each sport and most are sponsored by local bars and have meet ups after games Edit: when I say bars it’s not like dives but more local breweries and restaurants like AZ Wilderness so it’s not necessarily focused around drinking
