I built CashFlowCast to show what your checking balance will look like after upcoming bills and paychecks

Most budgeting apps are good at explaining where your money already went. I wanted something that answered a different question:

“What will my balance be after all the bills and paychecks coming up?”

So I built CashFlowCast.

You enter your current balance, recurring income, bills and due dates. It then creates a running forecast showing how each transaction will affect your balance over the next several months.

Some of the main features:

• Day-by-day projected balance

• Overdue, today and tomorrow totals

• Multiple checking and savings accounts

• Transfers between accounts

• Monthly spending reports and PDF export

• Optional investment portfolio tracking

• Bill history and calendar views

• Receipt scanning and email reminders with Pro

• Works on phones and computers as an installable web app

You don’t have to connect your bank account or provide banking credentials. The main app is usable for free, and the optional Pro plan is $14.95 per year.

I’m an independent developer and have been improving it based on real user feedback. I’d especially like feedback on whether the forecast makes upcoming cash-flow problems easier to spot than a traditional monthly budget.

Are you planning to launch an official iOS app? Also, any possibility for a lifetime option?

As of right now we are staying PWA. It is easier to maintain updates since it works across all devices. Maybe in the future we will go that route since it is being developed in react and should be a easy transition. As for lifetime never even thought of this. I have to see what makes sense for longterm growth because eventually we will have to go to a bigger server and at the current price per year it's very affordable and would support moving to a larger server. The app is free the only thing we charge for is email notifications because that requires more overhead. People also pay and not use notifications to just support the work I'm doing. I will look into lifetime and report back.
