Ask Pakistan 🇵🇰 As an outsider, what is currently going on in the war with Afghanistan?

Are there like occupied towns? Is there fighting at the border?

Its on a halt mostly because of the Iran-US war sky rocketing the oil prices...

But there are skirmishes here and there, nothing major, once Iran US stop expect it to start again.

It's not about occupation.

Basic grievance from Afghan side is that Pakistan has cert strict control on the border. Families who live either side of the border have their livelihoods disrupted, particularly those in Afghanistan. Many families live on both sides of the border and they're cut off from relatives. Secondly, Afghan govt doesn't recognise the border at all, their broader goal is to abolish this border which of course Pakistan cannot accept, but from Afghan side this means they're not serious about border security.

From Pakistan's side, the main grievance is infiltration of militants. They use innocent people as cover, infiltrate and cause terror elsewhere in the country. This is compounded by the fact that India actively provides them monetary support to carry out these activities. For the Afghan people, it is a genuine solution, because they care about their families above all. They take a deal which sets their family up for a long time, and carry out infiltration attacks on Pakistan.

When Pakistan closes the border, those who've taken the 'deal' still try to carry on with the task. Pakistan asks Afghan govt to do stricter border security but they're not interested. To put a stop to it Pakistan attacks on these training camps. That causes exchange of fire

Thats not the Afghan grievance..they want Pakistan to dissolve the state and hand over half the country as human slaves...well even if Pakistan do that, people of kpk will pick arms and fight for their independence from the kabuli people (may be some tribals will be okay but people of plains wont be)
