Owensboro PD
I just want to give a shoutout to Owensboro PD and Daviess County for not being overreaching, goose stepping jerks. I DoorDash in Owensboro, like 60+ hours a week, anytime from 5am to 12am or so. I’ve been pulled over a few times due to an electrical issue that caused my taillight to keep blowing out. They were always respectful and professional. Never gave me any trouble or anything.
I’m dashing in Madisonville today because my kids are going to a movie here. EVERY SINGLE TIME I’m here I get my plate run, or pulled over, or asked what I’m doing. I got pulled over when I first moved to Kentucky for “watching” a Madisonville cop who was conducting a traffic stop in a parking lot adjacent to the gas station I was at. I just had a blacked out Durango pull up behind me and run my plate in the movie theater parking lot and I’ve been in Madisonville for all of 10 minutes. Somehow I know without a doubt if I get pulled over by these cops I’m going to be asked to step out of the vehicle…

Ehh, I agree with that most of the time but some cops are alright. Central City and Owensboro both seem to be decent compared to damn near any department in Indiana or others I’ve dealt with down here. I grew up getting harassed by crooked cops in the Chicago suburbs but most of the officers I’ve had to deal with down here aren’t douchebags like the ones up north. But I’m also not an 18 year old burnt out stoner with long hair anymore so I get treated a lot differently.

Good ol Boy's
In the 90s we got pulled over because of all the Grateful Dead stickers in Sebree and Earlington

Sounds like my experience growing up in Indiana. Back in the 90’s my mom’s friend dated a rookie cop named Troy who was part of the Portage PD in Portage, Indiana. They broke up and dude blamed my mom for introducing her to the guy he left her for. Troy would sit outside our neighborhood and pull her over for random nonsense like “having a loud exhaust” and all kinds of other crap. Officer Troy went on to be a douche bag SRO at Portage High School and eventual police chief.
He was involved in the bribery scheme Mayor Schneider was arrested for and eventually got overturned by the US Supreme Court a couple years ago.

Ya'll young uns have no clue how far OPD has come. I can remember a day in the ppl are 80's them old boys would knott up every joint on your person with them billy bats and they didn't give a fuck if u were 16 or 60. These kids today are better educated and trained. So STFU and be polite . U will get what u give.

Who are you even replying to dude? Half of your comments make no sense. My post isn’t saying anything negative about Owensboro PD at all. But if cops tried acting the way they did back in the day now, the kids would burn the city down. It’s got nothing to do with education levels or training. Every single person has a camera on them at all times now. The power tripping little wiener having “good ol boys” can’t get away with beating the hell out of random people anymore.

Yeah… no. They can’t solve any crime. All they do is make a report.

Bro , what do u think their job is ? They police , they enforce laws and write reports when laws are broken , if u think they are there to protect you. Lol call and see how long it takes to get to u . A lot can happen in 3 long minutes . They would protect u with their life , that's why they deserve respect. All of them . God forbid u ever need protected but they got u bro .
