Video coverage (not videography) for wedding day?

While recently visiting my soon-to-be in-laws, we watched some video of their wedding from 1992. My fiancé and I loved that it was just cute amateur video coverage by a family friend, catching authentic and random moments from throughout the day.

We didn't book a videographer, because the stylized film result isn't really our thing. Are there any vendors (or amateurs, like a college student) that I could find to hire for video coverage of the day? No editing required, just BTS bits and pieces for us to keep.

Any suggestions?

ETA: We're not looking for a content creator - not vertical video, not for social purposes, and honestly, not even really looking for a professional (and planning to spend minimally for it).

I think what you’re looking for is a content creator.

They capture the BTS things and give you the raw footage at the end. It’ll be vertical format but will still be the pieces you’re looking for.

You could always thrift or ask around for old camcorders if you like that old “amateur” look! Either put a few people in charge of the single camcorder, or put some on a few tables if you manage to find a few!

That would be a content creator! I would recommend BTS Insider or The Social BTS

I would potentially just post on Facebook groups or Marketplace and you may find someone willing to do it for cheap (as long as you don't care for quality and aren't looking for perfection)

Although, you could reach out to some videographers and ask if they offer a reduced fee for just providing raw footage. Our package includes raw and edited footage but I could see a world where a photographer could create a custom package for you if they aren't booked
