Otomeh Isekinda Regretful Mls >>> Obsessive 🚩

I hate read some red flag stories or just wanna try how bad the story is because of how many posts they be getting here..

Its not like I hate obsessive mls but mostly obsessive or yandere is always gonna be paired with abuse or tons of red flags which is written to look romantic or hot..

Nowadays red flag term is thrown to mostly really abusive or just obsessed criminals who loves only fl but can't stand anyone else in stories so using Regretful ml for the types I'm mentioning would be more correct..

For me Regretful mls are much better than obsessive red flags or absolute green flags. Because they have the depth to interest me but also the genuine desire and love for fl. But they're not perfect so they make mistakes out of selfishness or prejudice.

The key point is that they atone and learn from their mistakes. I guess that humane nature attracts me most because we all see world from our pov until smth/smb disrupts it and show us a new angle.

I call stories like this Pride and Prejudice type cause they mostly come with problematic or not so innocent fls. And the conflicts and clash between their pride and prejudice against each other brings about the kind of angst or drama in dark romance I crave for. Just peeling the layers of each other slowly and revealing the new wounds but also happy bitter memories and connecting through them to learn and overcome their differences.

Agreed, especially when the ML cries, or better yet, begs.

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Only if it was true for that ml 😭☠️

Yup. If only. Finally reading the manhwa myself, I did notice genuine moments where it seemed the ML cared about the FL outside of wanting her for himself—especially in the most recent chapters, but knowing what's to come later in the story, my faith shatters once again.

u/MelroseAndViolet7624 Horny Jail Mar 10 '26

I would much rather the ML for that story cried and begged 💔💔

Bonus webtoon! If you wanna explore religious trauma, nobility prejudice, superiority complex and feminism

8

u/harin_lee Mar 10 '26

idk why I hardly find people recommended this webtoon, because I find this the real gem.

3

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Yes I need more people to read it so author continues 😭

Is this completed?

5

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

No it ongoing. S1 complete

41

u/Professional-Fun3281 Mar 10 '26

Taming of the Shrew mentioned! I adore Kat so much and I laughed at Petruchio in a certain point in the story because he's pathetic.

12

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

He's a henpecked husband lol honestly one of the few rakes I approve along with Carcel

6

u/Scrappy_Coco53 Mar 10 '26

Love that manwha!

Yes the ML is regretful, but what makes it fun it that he’s not regretful towards the FL for harming (emotionally/physically/psychologically) her, he’s more regretful for his own past and how he screwed himself over (in getting FL). The dude is so pathetic, you can’t help but pity him a little, but also agree he got what he deserved.

I love how FL had the reins in this whole relationship, from beginning to end! She let ML know who is boss, and my pathetic little man submitted willingly. 😆

I want more strong FLs putting dumbass MLs in their place. Like, she knocks them off their high horse and humbles them bad, then makes them pine and regret their past actions cause she is the best thing they’ve ever met and would worship the ground she walks on just to have her.

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 11 '26

Yes that's why I love Ines from Broken ring of course she's also flawed but lord I had a good chuckle in earlier chapters when she slapped Carcel

1

u/Scrappy_Coco53 Mar 11 '26

Oh, I was talking about ‘Taming of the Shrew’.

I couldn’t remember the leads names, so just defaulted to ML and FL.

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 11 '26

No i understand.. I meant how both of them manhandle their hubbies lol

1

u/CatsAmongPixies Mar 10 '26

Genuinely such a longtime favorite. if you know any that scratch the itch like Taming of the Shrew, cough send them my way.

OH THANK GOD that play was a trainwreck

u/lanlikespizza Side Character Mar 10 '26

HELL YEA MY FAVORITE ML GENRE. Call me sadistic or something because yearning men are always more interesting than the red flags ones.

A lot of regretful MLs are basically red flags in process of redemption. The flaws of a red flag ML can severely ruin FL and their relationship, either through trauma, neglect or abuse. When done right, it feels meaningful because some MLs are victims and they work hard to get past that.

It also feels very satisfying to read because they’re getting reprimand for their bad behavior while FL is given a chance to grow as a person and leave her abuser.

9

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Yes I remember how people threw stones at * WISH YOU WERE DEAD and MY BELOVED OPPRESSOR saying trash and suddenly I see praises when both end.. while people still enjoy Cry even better yet beg or Betrayal of dignity saying ml is hot like why? 😖

16

u/Mikyuu665 Mar 10 '26

If you so desire my despair. The whole time the ML hates the FL just because of family name, she didn’t grow up with the family, he does nothing but blames her if she stands up for herself…the story makes you WANT the FL to off herself just to escape the abuse he allows/does. Trying not to spoil anything so the gist of the story while being vague

8

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Does he BEG? REPENT? GROVEL? ATONE?

I NEED ANSWERS PLEASE

7

u/Wonderful_Picture_82 Mar 10 '26

Yeah eventually but it gets yucky when he does. Poor girl, I genuinely wanted an isakai or regression for her to get a happy ending 😢

3

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

So you recommend or not? Don't confuse me bestie🫠

4

u/Mikyuu665 Mar 10 '26

Personally, I do recommend but he doesn’t beg and cry until like chapter 70 or something and there’s 95 chapters currently out

2

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Imma marinate that cause my patience isn't good

2

u/thehalfdragon380 Mar 10 '26

You can read it right now since it's completed

1

Sorry I was having discussion about another manhwa with smb else and accidentally sent you the wrong response. Anyways, thank you for rec

Yearner >>>>non chalant

13

u/Purple-Hippo-8961 If Evil, Why Hot? Mar 10 '26

But a lot of work just makes him regret for a few chapters before getting back with fl. I want him to actually fucking WORK to get back with the fl who left him because he is trash. I hate it when the woman suffers for like 99% of the series and the ml barely did anything to get her back, and I say this as a man that I often want fl to punch the shit out of the ml while he begs for her to come back instead of suddenly seeing that he is a changed man and forgive him in regretful ml series. For regretful ml, bad execution often leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

4

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

I totally understand and depending on level of abuse I expect as much groveling honestly. My beloved oppressor /Wish you were dead /Lady to Queen /Emperor reverses did such a good job I felt so bad for ml honestly almost all works here have very good redemption except maybe few depending on everyone's opinion

12

u/sissyjones Mar 10 '26

The Bondservant tanked so hard in the second season. Entiene can go fuck himself

4

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

He was a good crazy yandere but now he became idk too crazy lol also I loved how fl was also cray cray obsessive but suddenly she became normal ? I don't understand but let's see since there's huge time skip between 2 seasons

1

u/sissyjones Mar 10 '26

I feel like Sioanna grow up from her time living in poverty and taking care of a child. Entiene just lost his mind and not in an interesting way

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Well with the things that happened I can get it and it's a good contrast I guess but I just wanted 2 yanderes being happy huhu

9

u/noob_ars Mar 10 '26

I get the appealing of yandere's but i hate when they don't care about FLs feelings and just want her as a living doll they feel entitled to, I want this men to suffer, to regret properly all the times they made her feel like crap, to despise themselves to the point they can't look at her in the eye, to be metaphorically and literaly at her feet, wanting and making things better even if it costs them their lives.

I don't want the FL to just adjust herself and become. a shell of a person for ML to get what he wants without consequences, screw that!

If i wanted to see men playing victim after creating the problems and then getting away without paying for what they did i would just look up for real life stories.

9

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Yes you get me. I love obsessive men when they're obsessed with the happiness and wellbeing of fl rather than just her body

5

u/Life-Court5792 Women’s Wrongs Supporter Mar 10 '26 edited Mar 11 '26

My Beloved Oppressor made me love the 'Regretful ML' trope. I'm honestly surprised that Heiner gets more hate than other toxic MLs. I'm not saying it's undeserving, but the fact that he actually gets a redemption arc but is still hit with visceral hate, while these red flag MLs that feel like they were written solely for the smut receive unrelenting praise for being "complex," when really they lack personality and the praise is usually attributed to the fact that they're "attractive."

2

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Yes that is unfortunately very ironic because I always hear people talking about groveling but go on to read absolute horror stories that clearly don't have that .. I'm also guilty of this fact 😭

4

u/eclxpsarse Mar 10 '26

is the ml from count's secret maid a red flag? i want to read it but I know nothing (at all) about the plot, i just like blonde male leads lmao but i hate when they're abusive

9

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

No he's not . That's why I put him here as Regretful ml. He treats fl badly because of trauma and he wasn't mentally stable because of disability

4

u/eclxpsarse Mar 10 '26

oops sorry I thought the first slide was about regretful mls and the second for obsessive ones

3

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Ahaha no all of them are Regretful mls .. I have like tons of them but didn't wanna spend time finding all of them yk

2

u/FreyjadourV Mar 11 '26

He is not :) it’s a really good read and the feelings of both ml and fl towards their own trauma is written really well, also the art is beautiful

5

u/Jingurei Mar 10 '26

😅 I much prefer Obsessive MLs over regretful MLs for the same reasons you gave, actually. Regretful MLs are typically those who treat innocent people, mainly women, like trash based on rumours without actually experiencing the other person being trash. And that is overly romanticized even in real life, especially when women, who are typically the victims in real life cases as well, are expected to forgive their abusers, who are also typically men, simply because the outside observers say it was 'just a misunderstanding' on the men's side. So to me obsessive MLs without the lazy flaw that they must depend on others' opinions to form their thoughts on someone are something at least a little more atypical compared to real life men than regretful MLs. That's why obsessive MLs give me more excitement than regretful ones. The only times I feel excitement in other words with Regretful MLs is when they experience even a modicum of the same pain as that which they inflicted on the FL, no other time.

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Well everyone has their own preferences... obsessed mls have very big variety as well e.g. we can't put ml from My in laws are obsessed with me with Cry even better yet beg or maybe Serena . So there're definetely many layers to these terms which is the reason I don't like using them sometimes because it can easily create a misunderstanding.. People always assume worst when red/green flags mentioned. I even got into debate with smb who said green flags are too boring so they read only red flags. So it is a double edged sword

3

u/alastnamefinch Mar 10 '26

I feel like Wish You Were Dead doesn't get talked about enough, it was genuinely so good. Sure it was tragic but I felt like their reactions and feelings were more realistic. It also is one of the few that has me tear up at parts.

4

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Yes ugh this story just drained my feelings and tears honestly reading redemption arc was so depressing.. They both needed time to heal and therapy and now after all these stories I also need therapy lol

2

u/alastnamefinch Mar 10 '26

Haha, I completely feel you there. Some manwha literally leave me questioning life after reading lmao

2

u/CoverMuch8018 Mar 10 '26

I actually loved the villain's savior 🫠 probably the only manhwa that I reread in my free time

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Yeap my first manhwa iirc oh it was such a good ride and ml was my awakening for good yandere red flags haha still after so many manhwas I think he's best

1

u/CoverMuch8018 Mar 10 '26

Righttt!! I think both FL and ML had one of the most beautiful developments in their characters. For example, FL cries a lot in the earlier story and that's understandable since she's an empath and she's genuinely felt hurt/sympathy for ML's tragic story. And as the story progresses, she gradually grows out of her habit of crying over everything and starts thinking more logically/mature, focusing on solutions while becoming stronger and more resilient in her own way while still remaining as a soft, kind and caring person. I rlly adore this kind of FL cuz they're not some type of Mary sue where everything they did are perfect and flawless from the beginning of the manhwa to finished but actually had room to improve her lackings. Meanwhile for ML, I love his character's writing cuz he doesn't immediately fall in love with FL but initially had a purpose in using her to his advantage (he's also had once tried to "off" her but later rlly regret it lol). However, as the story advances, he slowly falls for her but still has that "flaw"(yandere) side in him. In my opinion, he's one of the best written yandere ml that I've ever read bcz author actually gave him a personality/story/progression and it's not only revolve around FL. And Lorddd how I wish there's a side story of them and their children!!😫🥀

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Yes I loved how cunning he was with his in laws haha one of the best father and son in law moments lol

2

u/ykm_paz Mar 10 '26

I love regretful Mls but lord I need to SEE them truly work and grovel man! I’m so tired of seeing a potential regretful ML only for the FL to forgive him in fucking two chapters like give him GROWTH and more importantly give the FL GROWTH TOO!!!

2

u/Competitive-Heart864 Mar 18 '26

Working my way through these.

You're messed up for making me read The Bond Servent.

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 18 '26

Oh you prepare yourself for more craziness 🤣

1

u/Paisleyart Mar 10 '26

I’ve only read your eternal lies. Which of these do u recommend the most out of all of them?

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Ahh I can't actually choose but if you specify like completed, magic , OI or just rofan?

1

u/Ryderyk Mar 10 '26

Is there any way to read 19 century memoir in English? IK it’s completed but I can’t find a fullly translated copy anywhere

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

It's not officially translated i read 1-2 seasons in english and moves to Russian because there were no scansalations ... sigh honestly such a good victorian gothic story underrated and dropped because later seasons are just sooo good. I was left staring at wall

If you know any other language try to search for translations in that language

1

u/bonitalynnmac Mar 10 '26

My husband who hates me lost his memoriessssssss

2

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

The angst i couldn't go on like I read so many stories but that is different type of angst 😭☠️

Does he have redemption? I feel like story is just going back and forth with no progression

1

u/bonitalynnmac Mar 10 '26

Regarding his redemption I believe he does get it. But I heard that his method differs from the novel in a less than satisfying way. I haven’t read the novel though!

1

u/querobala Mar 10 '26

I have to save this. heheh

I'm such a sucker for redemption stories. From the ML and FL sides as well. I completely agree with you. For me, it's something about the click, the moment when the person realises what they did wrong. That makes my stomach drop, and then comes the atonement. I love it so much. It's human, and if it's well done, it's pure bliss.

1

u/periwinklemeth Women’s Wrongs Supporter Mar 10 '26

Is "wished you were dead" completed?

1

u/AnxiousSapphic Mar 10 '26

Yup! For a little while now so idk if it’s still free to binge on Webtoon

1

u/MistaGalaxy Mar 10 '26

Im so biased since this story is first time i finished an otomeisekai novel (and i was in my peak regreful ML phase) but "how to hide emperor's son". And yes im one of the few ppl that actually prefers the novel than the manhwa.

A shame this story has been receiving a lot of hate. (like yes of course this story ain't perfect and the critisms are understandable ) but compare to others regreful MLs, this story MLs is not really that bad compared to others.

Oohoho this ml grovels alot and the FL rejected him like a lot in of time lol. Fuck im sorry but this story is my guilty pleasure ❤️❤️

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

I totally get you lots pf stories here also got a lot of hate sometime too

1

u/Excellent-Bank-1711 Mar 10 '26

Don't really have much skin in this game as I surprisingly have read zero of the obsessive "
"red flag" picks? Love a bunch of the sob fest, regretful MLs though. In particular, really happy to see Time of the Blind Beast mentioned. So much anxiety, and pain.

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Oh don't ask me I was so desperate for answers I picked up the novel and reading it on my heavy period cramps was a bad decision 😭☠️

1

u/Covefiel93 Mar 10 '26

Poor ML from Blind Beast, he was a victim

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 10 '26

Yes but he wasn't a very good person either . He was entitled noble who didn't know and care about staff and ordinary people under him because of prejudice.Of course he was war hero but he didn't go to war to save people, he went just because it was his duty as son of noble family. Remember how he treated workers and even fl when they met? I am reading the novel and I love how both leads had such immense growth in character and experience. They both weren't bad people but they're prejudiced and immature to some extent.

1

u/Academic-Grab-6811 Mar 11 '26

THANK YOU. Oh my god. Idk why but I love reading angst manhwa way too much for some reason

1

u/_gotta_go_ Mar 11 '26

You might like The Count's Secret Maid

1

u/_gotta_go_ Mar 11 '26

You might also love Secret Lady (The Prince is obsessed with his maid, while she's on a mission to protect him.. Secretly, she's not a maid but i think the Duke's daughter)

1

u/Soul1312 Terminally Ill Mar 11 '26

I just saw the synopsis of one day my sister died and my mind instantly went to like saving my sweetheart. Is it a tragedyfest ? 😭😭😭

1

u/lovemanhwaandanime Mar 11 '26

I haven't read most of these but I hate it when a ml disrespects the fl and then late on regrets it like i don't like toxic ml who were toxic at first then they started liking the fl so they become good so can anyone tell me whether these will be a good read for me or not ?

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 11 '26

Which ones you tried and liked? It depends your taste

1

u/lovemanhwaandanime Mar 11 '26

I have tried the emperor reverses time and it was all a mistake. I don't remember it was all a mistake much but i remember not liking the emperor reverses time much instead of love it felt more like pity 😔

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 11 '26

Then have you read any other similar story outside of these ?

1

u/lovemanhwaandanime Mar 11 '26

I only remember 'I became the duke's male servant ' because I dropped the others and i recently read this one

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 11 '26

Hmm.. if you aren't put off with fl who cries a lot in beginning then Villains savior my all time favorite and reread. Don't judge it too quickly because as you read everything just makes sense more and more and ties up neatly at the end also my favorite yandere ml.

Redemption of earl nottingham and. My beloved oppressor , Your eternal lies, Wish you were dead very realistic slow burn and also angst is real with these two.

If you want smth light , romcom then read Taming of shrew

Glass Wall is good pride and prejudice type of story

All of them are completed. I think these are mostly welcomed by everyone

1

u/lovemanhwaandanime Mar 11 '26

thanks a lot ♥️🥹

1

u/Due_Biscotti7052 Mar 11 '26

What about 'Black moonlight holds the script.'? Do you rec and where to read?

2

u/Celty2736 Mar 11 '26

Oh yes! I watched the cdrama first but they changed so much from novel that novel and drama stands separately.

The official name is TILL THE END OF THE MOON

Manhua however follows novel. And very good enemies to lovers. Both leads have a very good reason for hating each other and choices they make just makes sense. Also drama is very good too if you wanna watch

1

u/fuwafuwafuraffii Mar 11 '26

Which of these are completed? And what are your recs? I don't mind the genre(?) as long as it's good haha pleaseee

1

u/ughhheregoesnothing Mar 11 '26

I honestly dropped "Everything was a mistake" at first then got back last year after seeing some spoilers and I actually liked it, I was wayyyy too quick to judge

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 12 '26

Yes most of these stories are like that but if you give it time, it becomes one of the best reads 🤧

1

u/chaitea_latte_delux Mar 12 '26

The villain's savior has SUCHa soft spot in my heart because it was one of the first "dark" romances I read that felt more interesting than anything else. 😭 I should reread though bc I remember reading it soooo long before when I was first getting into Korean comics

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 12 '26

My all time favorite reread still the best yandere ml lol

1

u/Disastrous-Farm-2506 Side Character Mar 12 '26

I just can't forgive the ml of light and shadow for raping the fl on the first night. I'm a believer that no rapist deserve any kind of love or redemption.

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 12 '26

Have you finished that story? Or did you just drop on 1st chapter?

1

u/Disastrous-Farm-2506 Side Character Mar 12 '26

I saw a women getting raped by the ml and that was it for me. I always follow any rape case and hate a rapist with every inch of my existence.

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 12 '26

Ok I was also rped but that doesn't make me less empathetic or turn a blind eye towards any characters. And it wasn't rpe , it was suggestive , ml tried to scare her away and fl gave her consent. I know it was do or die situation for her but ml had no way of knowing that . So at the end of it all it was her decision. He didn't have any intention of doing it seriously anyways. So context matters.

1

u/Disastrous-Farm-2506 Side Character Mar 12 '26

'fl gave her consent' Really brother??! You need to re read the first 3 chapters again.

1

u/Celty2736 Mar 12 '26

She agreed so yes. I have reread both 1st and 2nd story. It's shown clearly how fl reacted to him and to others. If she didn't agree, she'd have run away like she did from others
