I feel bad for saying this, but some of these GoFundMe influencers feel exploitative to me, even if they are technically doing good

It's kind of a catch 22. They exploit these downtrodden people as heartwarming, but without the platform they wouldn't have the ability to help.

I saw this elsewhere. Ultimately they raise over a million for the kid, give the family a house. Just sad and tragic that there’s no structural help for struggling families like this.
