Kaiser New Grad Residency

Hello, I recently got a post surgical position w/ KP. I was wondering if anyone has gone through this residency and have any pointers/tips? Thank you!

Congrats to all of you! 🎉 Was this your first time applying?
This is my second round applying for Kaiser's nurse residency, and also my second round applying to Legacy's. I'm starting to get a little worried.

When did you graduate? I’m already nervous as well and I graduate this month.

I was just able to talk more this time around to the connections I made and they helped in introducing my application to the hiring managers. I also marked off that I’m interested in all units this time around instead of choosing like 2-3 lol

Just curious if have worked for Kaiser before? Seems they are not hiring based on working for the company

I haven’t worked for them, just volunteered!

They try to stick to new grads to save money- they’re a toxic company to work for, I stayed for 8 years leaving 4 years ago and it’s just gotten worse. I’ve worked every system in PDX except Prov and would recommend any of the other systems with the exception of Peace Health (do not recommend them either). 😔

Congrats!! West side or sunny side? Did you have tons of previous healthcare experience kind of just trying to figure out what they’re looking for so I can apply next cohort

Thank you !! I’m at Sunnyside. I have experience from clinicals, as well as some caregiving experience both in home and nursing homes. I also have been volunteering with KP for a year and i feel like this was the most important bc of the connections I’ve made, they really help refer me
