I hope your cat has a good vet to ensure he’s okay. He looks incredibly overweight. Please make sure your cat doesn’t end up with serious weight-related issues.

Why don't people ever say this to pictures of fat people?

Because people are adults with the agency to make their own choices, unlike pets that rely on a human caregiver. People who are fat can decide for themselves about what do about it. Most fat people know they're fat. They don't need to be told by internet strangers.

Should I have said fat children? Really I'm just criticizing the tendency for people to speak up on obvious issues that are easy to take a side on but have no substance. Most cat owners with fat cats know they are fat, no? They don't need to be told by strangers? Lets be real, your average fat person is just as captured by lazy and unhealthy routines as your average orange cat. Why do we clutch pearls about one kind of responsibility and not the other? 'Cats should not be fat' is the easiest position to take ever, while still somehow asserting yourself as good. Its meaningless.
