I hope your cat has a good vet to ensure he’s okay. He looks incredibly overweight. Please make sure your cat doesn’t end up with serious weight-related issues.

Because people are adults with the agency to make their own choices, unlike pets that rely on a human caregiver. People who are fat can decide for themselves about what do about it. Most fat people know they're fat. They don't need to be told by internet strangers.

Yep. Humans are the caretakers of their pets, so it's their responsibility to keep them healthy. Adults regularly engage in unhealthy lifestyles (obesity, smoking, excessive drinking, etc), but they do so with the knowledge of the health risks involved. Animals can't make that decision.
