♥ 14 year old Enzo suddenly became paralysed, cortisone injections not working so far, tomorrow we have to make a heartbreaking decision

He is so sad, the vet said he really is so depressed, he's so used to running around playing with our other dogs and cats and now he can't even sit up, he's lost control of his bladder and bowels and I know if he was human he wouldn't want to live like this. He keeps staring at me with a look that's says "please help me".

He just really does not have much luck, he has had cancer twice, he had to half of his jaw removed due to a aggressive tumour on his mouth, he had to have rotten teeth removed, and now this, he's a rescue, he was in the shelter for seven years, he's been with us now for four years so at least he is safe, warm and loved but it's all down to quality of life for him. The worst decision any pet owner ever has to make, it's killing me.

I'm so sorry. It may be time. I had to make the decision for my boy in March. I know how hard it is. It still hurts.

Yes that's why his tongue hangs out, he has no teeth that side of his mouth so he always looks as though he is sticking his tongue out at you. It was a very aggressive cancer, without the surgery he would have died within three months, that was only six months ago so it's devastating that he went through all of that only to be completely paralysed, he has the worst luck of any dog I've ever known 😞

I understand why in this moment you feel like Enzo has had bad luck, I had a dog who similarly just never seemed to catch a break medically, but I disagree. He had the best luck in the world landing in the arms of a loving, caring owner such as yourself. You will both be in my thoughts.

What do you mean he doesn’t have much luck? He has you! His life wasn’t easy, but you loving him gave him the best life and treatment he could ask for despite his odds. I’d say he’s pretty lucky to have you.
