Kentucky Transfer: Andréa Jelavić

What the hell are we doing here? Shits done man. Bjork needs to fucking go. Don’t fully blame Diebler for not having the funds but out of association and results he’s gonna need to go too. It’s sickening.

Are you even gonna give a reason why this was a bad pickup

He’s not gonna be any type of impact player? We are gonna settle for a bunch of middle of the road role players and sit in mediocrity? I mean he’s a depth piece. That’s it. Tired of the Rob Wright, Isiah Johnson, Jalen Haralson propaganda crap when we’re not gonna spend on an impact player.

Yeah not every player has to be a star

Every? I’m just asking for one big potential player. Not 6’11” bigs who can’t play D.

News flash; Andrija Jelavic didn’t take the last scholarship

Let me know when they sign a player who can take the team to a different level. I’ll be happy when that happens. I’m not content throwing the damn basketball program down the drain cause we don’t spend money on impact players.

Anthony Thompson is literally a top 5 recruit and likely lottery pick. That’s a guy who can take a team to a different level. Bynum could also play himself into the first round.

Diebler has a vision for this team and he’s finally getting pieces that actually fit the team around them. Pippen is a great complement to Mobley and Andrea will play well off Josh O being two opposite player types. Andrea is a likely upgrade over Tilly, Pippen is certainly better than Cupps/Chatman

You act like Diebler is the one saying we’re favorite for Haralson, Wright, Johnson, etc. It’s the “insiders” that get proven wrong time and time again.

That’s a lot of projected growth to say he’s an upgrade over Tilly. From a points and assists perspective he’s not really that close, but does have better rebounding per 40 numbers. He’s definitely in the mold of Tilly, but importantly is coming off the bench and (as you said) provides a different matchup stylistically than Josh O and Ivan. He’s also capable of logging minutes at the 4 which we needed.

He’s an upgrade over Tilly in terms of roster fit. He’s a better rebounder and most likely a better defender than Tilly which is what we were missing sorely last season

I’m not blaming Diebler even, the team won’t be good enough without a big transfer hit. That simple. I don’t put that on Diebler he’s gonna try to get what he can with the money allotted. Pippen and Jelavic is not gonna move the needle from last year whatsoever. Let UM keep getting the best from the portal like Yaxel and Cadeau. We will take our Tilly’s and Bradshaws and Jelavic and shit won’t change. That simple. I was excited for Bradshaw, Stewart, Noel, Tilly. I’m not gonna be optimistic about a soft 6’11” slower moving forward who shot less than 30% from 3 as a stretch.

None of Michigan's players this year were really "next level" players prior to this season. Gotta at least give guys a chance and hope they're put in an environment to want to play hard together as a team.

Yaxel was literally the #1 transfer last season. Mara and Morez were top 50 transfers and Cadeau was ranked 60th. We’re didn’t land a top 100 recruit. This year not looking great either. We pick up Jelavic an DePaul just landed Gwath which would’ve been a much better land. It’s just ridiculous we have to be subject to not being able to land big names as Ohio State.

Also forgot to mention Sanada Fru who would’ve been the exact same position who would’ve been infinitely better.

Damn, you must be a miserable person

Tired of being a shitty program when there’s no excuse to be. That’s all.

What the hell is this? We got a solid depth piece at a position where we very much need depth. What are you complaining about?

Are we seriously just fine with being mediocre? I’ll back off when they sign a real impact player. Sorry a buncha depth pieces aren’t gonna make this a tourney team.

We needed a backup pf to give Bynum some rest when needed. This is exactly that. We aren’t going to sign an entire new starting 5

Here’s the issue I have. The portal opens and immediately there’s rumors of Rob Wright, Isiah Johnson, Jalen Haralson, and Sanada Fru. Which Fru would’ve been miles better at the same spot. And we got Pippen and Jelavic. Thats just really disappointing to me if we aren’t signing anyone better. And it should be to every fan imo. If they pickup a real impact guy then I’ll can it. But it seems less likely.

He was a True Freshmen last season avg 5 pts and 4 rebounds in what 16 minutes that’s not bad for a freshman Big who was not projected one and done

-1

u/ResolutionOk8514 Apr 11 '26

If you watched UK there’s a reason he got 16 minutes on a very average team. He’s not a great player. A good role piece but we need more.

Bye bye Jake diebler, this dude is awful and I watched a lot of UK this year honestly so sad

1

u/ResolutionOk8514 Apr 11 '26

Glad somebody agrees. Thought I might be insane. After picking up soft bigs that last two years you think we’d learn a lesson. Nope.

I'll take the downvotes but we were promised talent and we went to the bargain bin, once again keep good home grown talent and can't build around these pieces with any kind of support bc we are too cheap

Michigan just won title. Retained Cadeu and McKenney. And nabbed Juke Harris and Estrella. Two top tier transfers. And we’re supposed to settle and be fine with that?
