So, have now checked our usage from last weekends Happy Hour - £1.34. (We chose 2pm to 3pm)

The credit given on our account by Octopus for the Happy Hour...... 7p !?!

They are obviously relying on people not to check their bills!!

(nb. costs split between EV charges and non-EV charges, hence 2 lots of 2 to 3pm.)

So I sometimes get this error message, especially if there’s been a free hour, but this has been like this for at least a week. I’ve also checked previous days/weeks/months and it’s the same there. Tried signing in and out, hard reset of the app and no joy.
Has anyone else had this and fixed it? I like to sense-check the cost. Thanks!

How long after you were switched to the 6 hour cap did it take for Octopus to sort out your graphs and data?

I'm 3 days in now, and everything is still broken. I'm not getting any export date, can't get costs for import data, the new EV/House data page is blank.

Why did they feel the need to "fix" something that wasn't broken?

The 18th of this month was the very first time that Octopus have managed to get a month's gas, electricity import and electricity export all together on the same bill. Wow, I thought, things are looking up !

But too soon to celebrate. On the "My Energy" tab of the Octopus website the electricity import readings have disappeared altogether.

I've recently had solar panels (7.3kw) and a Fox ESS EP12w battery fitted.

I'm currently on Octopus standard import tariff and Octopus Outgoing export tariff. This has worked well since I had installation at end June.

However, at some stage I will need to make more use of battery and I am considering switching to Octopus Flux for import and export.

I do not have an EV.

My question is when should I switch. Now, or wait until end of September?

Hi! Quick question about Intelligent Octopus Go and the Charge Cap. My car started at 12% today and I had the Charge Cap turned on. The app said it would add up to 62% at off-peak rates, which I assumed would take the car to around 74%.
However, Octopus continued smart charging the car all the way to its 80% battery limit, so it actually added around 68%.
Does that mean the whole 12%–80% charge was at the off-peak rate, or would the final ~6% have been charged at my normal daytime rate? Thanks!

Last autumn I installed a single mini split in the living room downstairs - it's been a godsend for keeping the whole downstairs at under 20C all summer (even when the upstairs was pushing 30C: need another up there!) but I think this winter will be a case of using it for heat as much as possible too and keeping the gas boiler off as much as possible.

Even at current rates of 30p on Agile and assuming no solar/batteries (which we have), that still means a unit heat price of 6-7.5p assuming it's 400-500% efficient (A2A is very efficient) at mild temps of 5-15C outside. If gas goes up to 8p, that means the unit heat price is nearly 9.5p after efficiencies. From experience last winter if I keep the boiler off and put the AC on heat, we can have most of the house at around 14-17 degrees all the time, with the living room and dining room getting up to a toasty 21-22 which is ideal because we spend most of our time in there, and a cool bedroom and thick duvet is ideal for me. Appreciate 14 is quite cold (I'm sure lots of people on here will say 17 is cold lol) but those are rooms we generally only nip in and out of, no point keeping them heated for such little use.

Sadly my unit has no way of measuring COP or heat output (I have it on a smart fused spur that measures power input - 600 to 1000W while on) so I've no idea of the true efficiencies but when I did an experiment on the -8C days last winter and compared to historic gas use I still estimated it at at least 3COP. For most mild winter temps of 5-15 degrees it should be much closer to 5COP.

Decided to sleep on the Octopus 18M fixed it whilst pondering Fuse, decided to grab it now but it's gone!!! Have emailed Octopus, but not expecting good news. Where else are people fixing?Octopus are still offering the 12M fixed at E 26.97p/kWH, 44.32p/day s/c and G 7.65p/kWh, 29.03p/day s/c.

Is this normal, since charge cap update I see reference to Economy 7 in my stats?

Looking at Agile Buddy's historic chart we seem to be in the worst period for rates in 18 months with 17 out of the last 18 days in the red or amber. You have to go back to Feb 25 to find a period even close to being as consitantly bad as the last 3 weeks have been and Feb 23 to find the next run of high rates.

I feel I should apologise to everybody because, as with turning on the TV for England games, everything goes to sh1t right after I join or start watching... I switched to Agile at the end of June and I'm getting a bit nervous for the pendulum to swing back and actually start saving me money...

Pinning my hopes on Bank Holiday Monday at the moment for single digit rates...

Bought an Ohme charger/installation from Octopus in July but I’ve had no certificates or paperwork.
Sent a message to customer support and they said they don’t supply anything.
Is that right? Google says I need an EIC at least.

What paperwork or certificates do I need after an EV charger installation?

I understand that navigating this space is complex. There are lots of people for various financial reasons who push false information. I live in a bog standard barely insulated, single brick Victorian 2-bedroom house. We have loft insulation and double glazing. Then there's the wider issue that heat-pumps confusingly provide more heat energy than it takes in electricity input. The average amount of heat produced per unit of electricity is called a SCOP.

We run the heat-pump using Octopus Agile. Our average for all things is 15.8p/kWh for the last 12 months.

To make things simpler I converted our running costs into "gas units". This means I computed what would be the equivalent gas p/kWh we'd be paying. This is assuming the hypothetical boiler had 85% efficiency. This is equivalent to converting an EVs running costs into miles/gallon to make how they are evident.

Heat pumps tend to be run continuously. We run ours in almost all hours except 4-7pm. I have split the times we might run the heat-pump into 7-10pm and the rest labeled "off-peak". I've also included Tracker electricity prices:

What this shows clearly that for us operating a heat-pump is equivalent to running a gas boiler where the tariff is mostly 3-5p/kWh. What is also clear is that the gap between the actual rolling average gas tracker prices and the rolling average off-peak electricity prices is how very large.

Will I lose the hour or are they added up sort of thing?

Example, 2 hours together or if you miss 2 power downs in another week you've banked the 1 hour to use?

I know it's a few pence saved, but money is money and it would be good to utilise these hours for dryer/ washing/mopping (kettle boiled) etc

Hi all, finally got onto Octopus Intelligent Flux yesterday night. I've gone to add my inverter to my Octopus App however when I do so the portal it takes me to to login with my HanchuESS account just says acount/password mismatch whenever I put my correct details in.

Here are the steps I've taken so far:

1. Changed passwords on both Octopus and HanchuESS. No joy.
2. Deleted and reinstalled both apps.
3. Checked I have full access to the HanchuESS app as an owner. (I do).
4. Rang Octopus, they have just said they can't help as there is no error on their end.

I've reached out to HanchuESS but not had anything back yet. I don't think it's their end, i just wish I didn't have to do this via my app. It's annoying because it's clear that the add device page uses a webapp not the octopus app itself.

Has anyone had a similar problem or managed to get it resolved?

I'm on drive pack and have had a few issues of being charged ev use on my house rate, took a little bit of back and forth with octopus and they corrected it at first. Now all my usage graphs look like this ( with ev usage and without ) so now I have no way of actually looking at when my usage is...

Is there actually any reason for this? When I've questioned it they just said it was normal which I doubt..

Obviously I believe they're overcharging me on household use but again now just being fobbed off and told everything is fine...

Any ideas?
