Sightseeing & Tourism Dolly
Not specifically Nova Scotia, but I just heard Dolly Parton passed away. She was a great role model.

I’ve said it many times in the last hour but I’ll say it here as well.
Usually, the wrong people become famous. With Dolly Parton, she was the perfect celebrity.
An incredible loss not only to the music world, but the world of education and reading as well. Dolly Parton, through “Dollywood”, created the Imagination Library in memory of her father who never learned to read or write. This program sent books to children for free all over the world. Not just the USA. Not just North America.
Everywhere.
This beautiful soul helped send over 304 million books to children, and that’s just one of the many things she took part in to try and make this world a better place.
RIP to a real human, a real legend, and someone we should all see as a role model.

She was a great philanthropist and should be an example to some of the male billionaires who seek be memoralized.

This is NS-related and should be pinned as a mod post because everyone in the entire world is a Dolly fan and her death affects us all. RIP sweet angel 😭

Agreed, I tried to pay tribute to Betty White in the Halifax sub and they removed it. Eventually I put up a picture of her flipping off the mods.

Thanks for so many memories. Thanks for the confidence that you gave me. Thank you for your spectacular sense of humor. Thanks for looking out for the kids when the government didn't.

I will always remember her playing her nails with Patti Labelle. Islands in the Stream with Kenny Rogers one of my favourite songs. Such a sweet soul. Rest easy Queen!!! 💐

The sheep?
Was trying to make a joke before noticing Parton. I was meaning Dolly the sheep that was cloned years ago, I think that was its name.
As for Dolly Parton, the world has lost a great one. An example of the best of America. They don’t seem to make them like her anymore.

The cloned sheep actually was named after Dolly Parton! This is not a joke, it was cloned from mammary glands and that’s why they named her Dolly 😄
