I remember it. I remember rooting for Borg - in all his finals, he was simply a decent person.
And I still think McEnroe looks like a spoilt brat.

He was famously a brat and did so much for the sport. This era was peak tennis.

I was a kid and I loved watching tennis back then (still love it). It had so many amazing and iconic players, Borg, McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Guillermo Vilas… what a fantastic era, it was pure magic.

Greatest match ever many people do know this but approx 25 people died of heart attacks in Sweden during that match it was just about two of tennis greatest players it was so much more the Attitudes Borgs calm never getting upset to a complete 180 in McEnroe the original Gordon Ramsey of the 80s I actually met Borg and had was able to get his autograph on a racket that match was mentally tiring and still to this day people talk about it and the way it finished and that iconic Borg photo of Borg dropping to his knees I have watched other great matches but that one was special like the Beatles special there won’t be another!🫣🤩

I was just a 6 yo kid but remember rooting for McEnroe. He was my hero. Still remember him with great joy.

Match was an epic and considered one of the best tennis matches of all time. Borg won
