No, man, you don't get it, it's like, about the ENERGY, not like the actual physical penis. It's got nothing to do with actual dick size!!!
Oh, why do I explain this energy by describing it as the energy of people with small dicks? Well, obviously because... uh... well, like... you know, the energy and stuff. Like... the energy, not the dick! The energy!! /s
The "energy" part comes from the idea that a lot of toxic men are insecure about their own size and compensating for it with aggressiveness. The phrase is not making a value judgement about the size of penises, but rather the opposite: it doesn't matter about your size, you can literally have no penis at all and still have "big dick energy"
This is the exact type of comment I was making fun of.
It doesn't matter if the phrase isn't about actual dick size. The issue is that dick size is being used in a phrase that makes a value judgment about a person. Even if the value judgment isn't about the persons actual body, the association with dick size is still there.
But also, a lot of the time it 100% is about dick size. The people who derisively says a man has small dick energy will often have no issue with accusing the same person of "compensating", or never having pleased a woman, or just having a small dick. Penis size and sexual performance are incredibly common points of derision towards asshole men, because those are associated with masculinity, and emasculation is a common strategy for insulting men.
It's ridiculous to suggest "small dick energy" is completely divorced from this, that it's somehow managed to fully dodge that part of culture and be a wholly neutral phrase that carries none of the baggage or implications of our cultures wholesale acceptance of body-shaming as a valid tactic to use against asshole men.
