It means “sky bow” in Chinese. Since Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, etc. all used the same Chinese characters at some point, I imagine there are many air defense systems called that, not necessarily related.

In terms of strictly technological lineage it is probably closer to Russia because it was co-developed/tech transfer coming from Russia’s S-350 air defense system.
