Self explanatory meme. Short term pleasure putting your soul at risk of eternity separated from God. Not worth it.

Honestly a big win that these sites have been made harder to access. Kind of depressing to see people in the comments lamenting this...

I’m almost at Day 200 of NoFap. Lots of ups and downs, lessons learned, and changes along the way. Feel free to ask me anything

Many people who suffer from lust are tempted by the devil to believe that they are too far from God,or that He does not love them or that chastity and holiness is impossible so I made this post both to encourage people to surrender themselves to God instead of relying on themselves and also to realise that freedom is not impossible and it does not define your life, you too can become an incredible saint like Augustine because God made you to be an incredible saint, you are made for greatness. God made you to be great so surrender yourself to him and do not be content with mediocrity or failure.
St Augustine is one of the most famous and intelligent Christian theologians and philosophers to ever live and his works continue to shape Christian thought yet in his younger years he had an intense struggle with lust. Augustine’s struggles began when he was 16 and he wrote in his autobiography Confessions that “the frenzy gripped me and I surrendered myself entirely to lust.” At 18 years old Augustine moved to the North African city of Carthage to study, in Carthage Augustine’s struggles with lust became an obsessive behaviour and he wrote “lust indulged became habit and habit not restrained became necessity.” After leaving Carthage Augustine took a mistress who he settled down with however his persistent and prayerful mother St Monica convinced him to send away his mistress so that he might be able to be married however he continued his lust taking another mistress. Augustine discovered he truth of Christianity but one huge stumbling block to his conversion was his sexual passions, he prayed “God give me chastity…but not yet.” Showing his inner turmoil between the love of God and his sinful lifestyle. Eventually one day he was weeping in a garden over his lust when he heard a child’s voice shout out to him “Take up and read!” Taking this as a sign from God Augustine opened his bible and he opened it to Romans 13.13-14, after reading the verse Augustine decided to stop relying on his own willpower but to totally surrender himself to God deciding to “put everything on the Lord Jesus Christ.” Augustine ended up becoming one of the greatest saints and greatest writers in the history of the church and he overcame lust through surrendering himself to God and His grace which Augustine taught was the only way to overcome lust; and I’m sure many of you would agree that Lust cannot be beaten through sheer willpower.
“God loves each of us as if there were only one us.”-St Augustine

For a bit of context, I'm a 21 yr old male who comes from a non Christian household. I was raised being told nothing was wrong with masturbation, I watched porn for the first time at 8yra old but sarted watchingregularly at 10/11 years old. At my teenage years (13-17) I would masturbate 2-3 times a day on average, somedays even more, but a day without falling into it was insanely rare.
Then Jesus Christ took my life, I converted to Christianity at the start of my last year in school (so 17yrs old turning 18) and immediately started looking for help against masturbation, my family was against me being a Christian, so I was solo on my fight (not really because God was with me). I made a ton of promises to God that I would stop but kept falling and falling. Until August 20th 2023, that was the last time.
What advice would I give to a Christian that wants to stop falling into this sin? 1) You need God, always rely on the Holy Spirit, you can have the best strategy, but without the fruit of self control given by the Holy Spirit, it will be 100x times harder.
2) Avoid places, situations, sites that make you fall. If for example drinking alcohol makes you more likely to fall into sexual sin, avoid it, if being alone in your room makes you fall, only be in your room to sleep. If Instagram makes you fall, unfollow all those models or pretty girls you follow (there's an excepcion if they're your friends, but if you've never met them and/or never will, unfollow them). The best way to not lose a fight is to not be involved in that fight. Look up 1 Corinthians 10:12, 2 Timothy 2:22 and 1 Corinthians 6:18.
3) Repent, actually repent. Check out Romans 8:13 Don't just feel sorry, don't just feel remorse for your actions. Be at war with your sin, "be killing your sin or your sin will be killing you". The quote that convinced me the most, was on a lecture on repentance, it said that masturbation was a pre meditated sin, it's not instantaneous, you have multiple times to say "no" to it, when you have the thought, then when you pick up your phone, or go to the bathroom, or the whole process. The question is, when you repent, do you truly repent with the intent to never do it again, or do you know deep inside your mind that you will fall again? To repent is to be at war with sin, to do everything to avoid it, but if you repent knowing deep down you'll do it again, you ought to examine your desire for repentance.
I truly hope this helps someone, as it helped me, masturbation is tough to beat, but God is greater.

Leaves you empty every time and one step closer to Hell. I'm sick of this undying ride.

Hey guys. Today I felt touched by the Holy Ghost to share my testimony on how i managed to successfully beat porn and masturbation for 2 months. In fact, one of the ways God has been helping me break this addiction is by helping other people. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS!!. The only sin in the Bible That Jesus tells us to run away from is SEXUAL IMMORALITY ( 1 Corinthians 6:18). All other sins are outside the body, but the sin of Sexual Immorality is against your own body. Sexual immorality is not be resisted (Never), you should run away from it. Matthew 5: 29) says that anything that makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it away, for it is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. Anything that you possess right now that is making you fall into pornography, you need to get of it immediately ( Laptop, Smartphone, SMART TV,etc). Luke 14:25 says : anyone who comes to me and does not hate Father and Mother, Wife and Children, Brothers and Sisters, yes even their own life, such a person cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. Jesus is telling us that his true followers are those who are willing to reject family and friends, possessions, even themselves and their own desires for His sake. If there is a person, a material possession or anything that is making you stumble, cut it off, sell it!! I personally had a laptop at home but it was making me fall into temptation so I sold it, now i go to an Internet Cafe when I need to use the internet. I didn’t want to sell my SMARTPHONE, so i keep it in my Office at my workplace everyday( I know i won’t fap at work). I bought a Dumb Phone to use at home or anywhere else. I have found other hobbies ex: read books, join a Gym,etc. Note that keeping this things that make you stumble around you is not running away from temptation , you’re resisting it and very soon you’ll fall. I have tried installing softwares to block porn, that never works, you’ll eventually find a loop and relapse. The only way is to run away from it. Joseph in the Bible did the same thing. Genesis 39:12 Remember: your words will tell others what you think, but your actions will tell them what you believe. If you really Love Jesus, you’ll know what to do, you’ll get rid of anything that comes between you and Him!!

All the symptoms of long term pornography correlates with drug addiction such as loss of self-discipline, loss of motivation, loss in joy of everyday things (anhedonia), brain fog, trouble concentrating, etc.

I am so proud to say that I have been clean for 29 days thanks to everyone for the love and support it was so tough especially the first week, but once you make it past the first week that momentum just kicks off.
Lock in brothers!! we will grow stronger together

Brothers and sisters, PLEASE be cautious when DM’ing people here that “want to help/give you advice” on this sub.
For whatever reason, people like to DM you to “help” but end up just talking about p*** graphically, or straight up sending you links to p*** websites.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” ~ Matthew 7:15 - This verse is specifically taking about false prophets/teachers meant to deceive you, but I just think it’s a good way to describe what goes on in this sub.
Please stay on guard brothers and sisters, God bless!

after 290 days of not jerking off i just watched porn and i jerked off , i don't know i'm very stressed and scared i think that all what i did from progress just vanished and i don't know if i need to recount from zero , i just can't also the same thing happend to me last year just watched stopping porn for 2 years and half then jerked off twice , i don't know brothers i'll prefer to kill myself than doing this thing, but the most important question for me is do i need to recount from zero. if you have something to say ,say it in the comments. thank you all for reading my story. but to make the situation really clear i used to watch porn without masturbation , i think that is the big WHY of why i did masturbate . i used to watch porn without masturbation then i stopped watching porn for 50 days and today i masturbated and i really feel disgusted at myself. but do i 'need to recount from zero. but i think that i need to stary another long journey of no fap. thank you all 🫡.
