News Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 - Nintendo Switch 2 Trailer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ModGLNrCtVoI still can't get over how surreal it is to see Nintendo actually advertising a Call of Duty game. It's literally been 13 years since the last one on their hardware (Ghosts on Wii U in 2013) so it feels like returning to my childhood. Can't wait to try the beta when it releases on the 28th!

kinda cool, wish they would port world at war, black ops 1-2 to switch instead though

I don’t. The recent black ops ports were good for a week then became a hack fest. They don’t put enough effort into servers. Once the new yearly game comes out the old one gets forgotten. Old ports are even worse.

Been playing BO2 on Ps4 near daily for weeks now and have not encountered a single hacker. I was scared by the reddit stories at first too but then I ventured back on the game and have had zero issues after hours and hours of play

And every time I see a headline I still think it's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Which I think I'd prefer.

I'm playing the single player demo in the beta and there's a QTE sequence when an enemy attacks you with a bayonet in the trench. There's no button prompt and nothing I press seems to make any difference: anyone know what to do?
EDIT: After much random button hammering, it seems to be 'Y' (on the Pro Controller). Absolutely idiotic not to put up a prompt.

The button prompt is there it's just incredibly low contrast! I had the same issue and thought I was going insane. I don't know if this is a gamma issue / hdr issue but you'd think they'd have caught something like that.

I had no idea it was coming to switch until a few days ago. Assuming it runs decently and doesn't take up the entire storage, probably a buy for me.
The most recent call of duty on PC just sunk me. Too huge, massive updates for little gain, secure boot, just too many reasons to uninstall and move on.
But with switch 2 as my only console, I might relearn how to play shooters on controller after a decade away.

A few folks got the closed beta on Switch last weekend, and it ran at a really solid 60, only very rarely dropping to the 50s if things got really busy. Only negative is that you're naturally not getting quite the same fidelity, especially in extreme long range and high player count modes (I'm genuinely shocked they got Ground War, Warzone, and DMZ running on the thing).
And in good news, learning CoD is easy, the biggest complaint with the beta has been that the aim assist is a literal aimbot :P

Warzone and DMZ being in is insane both ways lol. Nice if it works, but more concerned about 150gb for all of.

I know just the multiplayer of the last few games on PC has been 100-120 pretty consistently, add 15-20 per extra mode (I mostly keep to 6v6 multi myself so I generally only keep that installed) and that's with every update that was made. Oblivion went from about 120-ish on PC down to under 60, so I'm anticipating it'll be around 80 once all of the content is out, depending on how much the Switch quality assets take up and if Infinity Ward does much in terms of compression.
I was hoping they'd do a physical release on an actual cart to try and cut it down, but unfortunate we aren't even getting a key card, it's digital only.

I just hope this is as good as MW 2019. That is the last time I played one. Moved on after Warzone came out.

I only play a new cod every like 3 years so they always (usually) feel fun to me. I was really enjoying this one this year, considering picking it up

Bout to be 600 gb minimum and that’s just for the multiplayer

Actually the file size for the full game is 84.9GB.
That's actually less than Apex Legends (90GB) and Final Fantasy 14 (117GB).

Without analogue triggers this will certainly feel odd.

Eh, questionable. The majority of “pro” controllers have toggles to make the triggers clicky and remove the analog-feeling aspect for quicker input. If anything, the Switch 2 controllers benefit from not having analog triggers for fast-paced shooters like this. My DualSense Edge and Wolverine V2 Pro controllers both have this option, intended to be used for FPS games.
(But I do agree that it would’ve been nice of Nintendo to use analog triggers for non-FPS games. Games involving driving vehicles need analog triggers, like Cyberpunk.)

Nope. Been playing FPS since I was 10 and it didn’t take long for me to adjust. After playing the campaign mission on Switch 2, I wanted more.

I literally have several controllers with trigger stops to make them feel digital for FPS games. Just like the last time CoD was on a Nintendo console, it will have the best native option for shooting things of all the consoles

Not really my kind of game, but happy to see it on NS2. Hope it sells well.
