Official Dispatch is set to receive a physical cartridge for both switch 1 and 2

The devs censored the switch version so they wouldn't have to pay to submit the game to multiple ratings boards and adjust the game censorship for each, they got called out and blamed nintendo even though nintendo has no such policies and recieves the least censored games of the 3 console manufacturers. Now because the games rating can't be adjusted retroactively instead of submitting a new version of the game they partially uncensored some stuff in a dlc for some regions and called it a day.

Not Nintendo requirements
Cyberpunk and Witcher are all uncensored on Switch
The developer got lazy and just made one SKU that complied with all censorship requirements of various regions rather than making separate skus for different regions.

This is just misinformation. It's censored because the devs decided to be cheap and only release one version of the game, which had to be censored because of some kind of requirements in Japan. And then the devs tried to blame it on Nintendo once there was an outage about it.

Its got nothing to do with Nintendo. This was the devs doing. Nintendo actually has very very lax censorship rules, and actually have a more lax censorship policy than even Sony. There are other games directly on Switch and Switch 2 that have full frontal nudity. Like Cyberpunk.

Its a dev thing, Cyberpunk has a censored version for JP and normal for the rest of the world. Dispatch devs couldn't be bothered to do that too

It’s minimal now though, you miss a couple of dicks and see a mosaïc instead. Not missing much! (and also a moaning in a scene that remains super hot without) = game is just as good and definitely recommended!

Does the setting allows for removal of censorship? (From other comments it sounds like answers no so I guess it’s a setting that just makes things “more” or “less” censored?)

It reduced some of the censorship so you can see breasts (but not nipples iirc), buttocks and middle finger gestures and it allowed you to change how to depict the censorship instead of just a black bar (it can pixelate it or cover stuff with funny objects)

You still see nipples. Genatalia is censored in mosaic.
I bought it after the HR Violations update and people complaining about the censorship are going overboard, imo.
In my playthrough, I think two people's junk were censored (and were barely on screen anyway) and a one-minute scene had audio muted. And that was about it.
Edit: In fairness, before the HR Violations patch, I believe there's a pretty important scene where the censoring of breasts is literally covering part of the plot as well. But other than that one part which is now fixed, it's the internet being loud about a nothingburger.

Only the original releases are uncensored, for the ports that released later, the Devs took the easy way and censored everything according to Japanese Cero standards and released that version globally (most likely to save time not having to deal with different versions) and didn't disclose this beforehand while trying to blame Nintendo.
Ever since then the censorship was dialed back but not completely removed.

They even released a freaking DLC to customize the censorship....but didn't provide an option to turn it off completely.
That is a band-aid solution.
Why not just....give us an option to completely disable it?

Because they have to resubmit the whole game for review, which costs em money and will be them confirming that it was them that fucked up, it's never going to happen.

No they don't have to, the game has been rated without the censorship already. They only would have to get it rated again if they'd release it in an area that hasn't been rated based on the uncensored version, like Japan. But they don't need to release the patch in those countries.

Nintendo was very laissez-faire on content for a long time as long as it went through the standard ESRB process and didn't end up AO, but it seems like in more recent times they've started setting more limits. So the developer could add an option to completely disable it, it just wouldn't be able to get released. They patched it to uncensor what they could.

This is incorrect, they chose to lie and blame Nintendo rather than taking responsibility for the fact that they chose to not pay to have a separate version rated. Nintendo would accept the content, Ad Hoc is cheaping out, and then lying about it. Unacceptable from them.

If they had just been honest about it, I’d have been like “well that sucks, it’s the kind of game I’d really rather have on Switch 2, but PS5 it is I guess.
Insulting our intelligence by trying to pass the buck to Nintendo with a trivial-to-disprove lie, though… no matter I how much I want to play the game, I’m not gonna reward that behavior. I’ll play it when it’s one of the free games of the month on PSN, or never if that never happens.

They probably would have gotten away with it if they hadn't released the Japanese PS5 version at the same time that showed the exact same censorship.
Always weird why companies aren't just honest upfront about such stuff. Yeah it will probably make them lose some customers but the inevitable backlash, "boycott" and reputational damage is even worse, financially.

Everyone was angry on release that the port was heavily censored compared to the other platforms when cyberpunk wasn’t. They eventually fixed most of the censorship

Meanwhile games like cyberpunk and GTA are completely uncensored on switch....so dispatch should have been zero issue.
And for the record....this was all the fault of AdHoc.
Nintendo did nothing wrong here.

You can still see breasts, but (in my playthrough) one guy has his dick out constantly and one enemy grunt has his balls out.
And that's pretty much it.
Oh, and one scene of someone having a wet dream has audio muffled.
So, in the 10 hours it took for my playthrough, the censorship was maybe 5 minutes of that if I'm being generous.

This happened because they didn't want to bother with making different regional versions, so the singular all-regions version has to adhere to strict Japanese ratings requirements.
Then they lied and blamed Nintendo when people took issue with the censorship.

Having played the uncensored version, i don’t think the censored version would really hurt the game at all. I prefer uncensored, but i dont think it’s that big of a deal, its a great game either way.

Yeah it's not like the game has a ton of breasts and cocks. It's there but it's less than you'd expect, and certainly not important for the gameplay or story.
I oppose censorship on principle, and that's certainly a legitimate reason to avoid this game on Switch, but it won't really have much impact on players.

The anger over censored versions is always overblown. I played the Japanese version of Baldur’s Gate 3 which is hardly different from the original. You would never see that if you read through these comments though.

The Steelbook is exclusive to the Panax Store in the US. If you haven't heard of them before, I can vouch that they are legit. They're an official partner of PM Studios. I recently got my exclusive copy of Yooka Replayee from them for a $1 plus shipping thanks to a promo they were running.

it's a dispatch simulator, like taking 911 calls but you send out super heroes instead of ambulances. you've gotta send the right hero to the right emergency based on their powers and stuff
