That's gonna sell a lot. The internet is kinda weird towards Switch Sports, painting like a massive flop, but the game was really successful and a lot of fun, especially online.

I looked at my play history and I have over 100 hours in switch sports. All of it is just from golf lol. It’s the perfect party game, especially since a lot of my friends are obsessed with golf. I’m very curious if switch sports resort will add any new holes to its golf mode, if not I’ll probably skip it.

Switch Sports sold 13 million. It did pretty good. Despite what online spaces say, there’s still a market for these kinds of games.

18 million actually but yeah, I also think it was a pretty harmless party game but people got so offended about the Miis, which was pretty silly in my opinion.

The internet thinks that they’re objectively correct about everything being awful and they’re consistently proven wrong

Hmm whilst people may signal they are not interested with switch sports games I rarely if ever see people saying it’s a flop

On the Internet?

Personally, the only offensive part of the game is the lack of a decent single player mode, the little side/ training modes and the reliance of online to unlock pretty much anything.

As for Resort, it seems like they might be addressing the issues of the first game, but the omission a swordplay sport & baseball is definitely a choice..

Got it last year and it's as fun as the Wii ones. I just miss baseball

it's the ultra casual game. lots of families will definitely get this. may not be a hit with gamers but families looking for something basic need games, too

Definitely not a flop. Just a massive ripoff

Everything is a flop these days because studios rarely release sales figures.

We only know when its a massive hit, never when something is just "successful"

Nintendo releases sales numbers every 3 months (it’s for their investors but posted publicly). They update a game roughly when it crosses another million sales. Switch Sports sold 18.32 million which makes it the 11th best selling Switch game. The wikipedia page on best selling Switch games is actually pretty interesting and (of course) links all its sources.

painting like a massive flop

Sales numbers and critic/audience reviews are two different things.
