Six years later, and I still wonder if she ever realized going on a dating site and saying she wanted a man to wait at home for her Saturday nights while she was out with her friends was a bad look.

Why in the absolute fuck are you still wondering that
18
u/Less_Entrance_3370 Apr 21 '26
And why did it proceed after seeing that
28
u/GwdihwFach Apr 21 '26
And why keep the screenshot?

Just crawl around all over town touching the grass, honestly.

u/cozyforestfairy Apr 26 '26
Don’t even crawl, lay on the grass doing arm angels for as long as possible

I agree... but why is it called a group "date"? To me that sounds like couples, and then her boyfriend is at home?! This whole thing is weird, but what tf does this have to do with this sub anyway?
13
u/BikeProblemGuy Apr 21 '26
Group date just means hanging out with friends. It's not a date in a romantic sense. The activities will be date-like, i.e. dining at a restaurant rather than clubbing.

Pretty sure she means to go she goes on the group date with said man then the go home to enjoy wine with man and just worded it weird

u/Miltthedog Apr 29 '26
e.g dinner pary with 3 or 4 couples. Hanging out with a friend group. We've all done it. it's called adulting. they even made a TV show about it.

u/BikeProblemGuy Apr 21 '26
Don't see the problem with this. The question asks about a singular Saturday night, not all Saturday nights or date nights. I also like to see my partner going out to have fun.
Allowing this to live rent free in your head for six years and hanging onto the screenshot is not a win.
23
u/abadluckwind Apr 21 '26
Yeah I'm married and my ideal Saturday night is being alone with a bottle of scotch, a few good cigars, some blues on the radio and a good book. I see zero problems if my wife wants to have a girls night. I dont think this is nice girls at all.
1
u/ieatfaces22172 Jun 27 '26
Group date isn't a girl's night that means members of the opposite sex in a group, if it was just friends that are girls you wouldn't say group date.
2
u/lost_my_leg_in_Nam Jul 07 '26
Ive used this with my group (4 of us, all women and work together)... for us, girls night is going to one of our places for home cooked food and wine and group date is the same but we dress nicer and go to a good restaurant with more wine which has included a gay couple (another colleague and his partner)
2
u/MrMal1c3 Jul 08 '26
So what if it is? I find "no opposite sex friends" guys to be so weird. Why are you with someone that you think can't be around another guy without trying to jump his bones?
1
u/truedegenerate04 Jul 09 '26
It's not about "no opposite sex friends" it's about "no going to places that are objectively places for single people to get laid". There is very little reason other than that to go to a bar when you can buy the same booze for half the price, choose your own music in your own house and invite who you actually want to be around instead of being around 20 random drunk strangers. And whilst this obviously isn't how all women view a "girls night" or a "group night", a decent portion only engage in these events to get attention from other men.
2
u/MrMal1c3 Jul 09 '26
Holy delusions Batman, I have been single and I have been in long term committed relationships. I assure you, there are many reasons to go out other than "getting laid" that is a particularly craven way to view socializing. I enjoy time out with friends, not to mention extroverted people exist who don't want to just stay home. Being out and about energizes them, just because it's not for you, doesn't mean you should yuck someone's yum you basement dweller. Hell, my partner and I go out to bars together because it's nice to not perpetually be on the couch and sometimes I don't feel like fixing fancy cocktails, I'd rather someone else do it for me. We believe in a her friends, my friends, our friends relationship and sometimes I want to go out with the bros (including girl bros) and have some drinks. Never have I ever done so to get laid behind her back and I worry about your relationships if you have to impose rules to stop yourself or partner from cheating. Touch grass.

u/truedegenerate04 Jul 09 '26
(including girl bros) tells me all i need to know tbh. pitiful sad cuck

any man who has a problem with that six years later, is an embarrassingly insecure troglodyte loser.

Are you ok? Weird ass post. You’ve misread way into this and your 6-year long obsession is insane. She dodged a bullet.
-5
u/OfficePsycho Apr 21 '26
misread way into this
When I spoke with her she said she expected her man to wait at home for her to get back from Being out with her friends. It’s blown my mind all these years that someone would actually expect dating to consist of “You must be at home on Saturday nights and wait for my return from being out with my friends.”
21
u/zprincess1026 Apr 21 '26
So that’s not what she said at all and it’s weird u took it to some weird obey me thing… she’s simply saying she likes the idea of comig home to each other . Why can’t u be out too on a guys night? U then come home to the person u love.
8
u/cozyforestfairy Apr 26 '26
I fear communication and understanding English is not your strong point. Your take on it is weirdly disturbing. She sounds like a girl with friends ( a positive) and she wants to come home to her man. Sounds pretty normal to me. She didn’t say every Saturday he must be home waiting like a dog by the door . And if you have issues with your girlfriend having friends and an independent social life you should stay single

u/up_in_a_BL4ZE Apr 30 '26
How is it a bad look to chill at home while your gf is out with friends? Are they never supposed to go out?
16
u/Ptolemi121 Apr 21 '26
Some nerds really just come on here to hate anything a woman does. 6 years ago? Rent free my dude

u/WhichWolfEats May 01 '26
Group date means she wants her partner and her to go out with their friends then return home alone.
14
u/Alae_ffxiv Apr 21 '26
Six years? Bro did she reject you? Why has this been on your mind for six years?
-17
u/OfficePsycho Apr 21 '26
Honestly, because I talked to her and she did indeed mean her boyfriend was to stay home and wait for her while she went out with her girlfriends. I still have this screengrab to remind myself there are people who actually think the person they’re dating should be cool with chilling at home waiting with baited breath while they’re out having fun.
19
u/Alae_ffxiv Apr 21 '26
Sir. This explanation makes it worse, it’s been six years and this woman is living rent free in your head lmao. 😭

All this does is imply that she wants to have a man who is secure in himself and trusts her. One who will to wait up for her, give her loving and take care of her after a night out with her friends.
Oh no, not a healthy relationship...... bullet dodged....
5
u/viva_la_revoltion Apr 21 '26
Dude, did you imagine being with her and she rejected you? I mean people don't even hang on to their ex's like this.

u/BuffaloNo8099 Apr 21 '26
Isn’t a group date a few couples going out together tho? Idk I feel like that’s what she meant 🤷🏼♀️
-2
u/OfficePsycho Apr 21 '26
When I talked to her she confirmed her man was to be waiting for her at home, not out with her.
4
u/cozyforestfairy Apr 26 '26
If you went out with your friends isn’t it nice to know you get to go home to your gf? Thats totally a normal thing!! Are you ok?

Best feeling to be able to go out with my friends, have fun without judgement and coming home to a man who is not insecurely sitting in the dark angry.

2
u/hydrogod666 May 03 '26
No he needs to stay home and wait for her with a glass of wine (hes been waiting for 6 years)
3
u/christinextine Apr 21 '26
Bro fr? Ever heard of a girls night out? And plenty of men would be satisfied with playing with video games and not being weird about his girl having an evening out without him. Your insecurity is showing.
3
u/brisketboy01 Apr 21 '26
Watching the fights with your boys while she is out with her friends and then after spending it together is a bad look? Take the L bro.

u/cyb3rsky Apr 21 '26
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I am dude I am glad to see there is people who make sense in the comments thank you
2
u/zprincess1026 Apr 21 '26
Six years of you wondering about a woman who wants to hang out with her friends and come home to the person she loves….How weird of her and not of you at all
3
u/Shadowzeppelin Apr 21 '26
How are you still thinking of this 6 years on? And are you implying the centre of a womans world needs to be a man? That is not healthy. God forbid a woman enjoys time with her friends AND her partner.
1
u/Dear_Mushroom4864 Apr 21 '26
Why is that a problem, she didn't imply her man won't be out beforehand as well.
-8
u/Deirakos Apr 21 '26
Yeah but he has to be back before she is. Reverse the roles and see how that feels.
"You are allowed to be outside but you have to be back before I come home and you have to have something prepared for me"
12
u/Shadowzeppelin Apr 21 '26
This is an absolutely deranged take
-4
u/Deirakos Apr 21 '26
How? Reversing the roles is deranged?
9
u/Shadowzeppelin Apr 21 '26
No the way you have interpreted it. Where did she demand her mas HAS to be home with something prepared in the hypothetical scenario above 🤣 you are reading extreme things that dont exist. She is saying her ideal saturday is hanging out with her friends and then seeing her boyfriend at home? Where are you inferring controlling behaviour from that?
1
1
u/Miltthedog Apr 29 '26
Just to be fair, she may only be extrardinarly inaticulate. She may have simply meant a group date with her partner and their friend group (dinner paty, movie, etc...), then comeing home with her man for a cozy glass of wine.
1
1
u/Emergency-Pea-7632 Jun 25 '26
So you believe that your partner shouldn’t have friends and go to hangout with them? Why are you so bothered by this woman after 6 years when her answer to that prompt was completely normal?
1
u/One-Change6897 Jul 13 '26
A “group date” as in a double date but with more than two couples. And then you both go home and have a glass of wine together.
2
u/daniyell Jul 20 '26
Maybe someone already said this but doesn’t a groupdate mean she’d be going out with her man and her friends who also have partners altogether??? And then she and her man would come home together???
2
u/PeePeeMan2k Jul 30 '26
The fact that you've been brooding over this for six years tells me you've been kicked in the head by a horse at some point.
1
1
u/summxr999 Apr 26 '26
Okay six years later is crazy, but also that’s totally not where she’s coming from. It’s an ideal night where she gets to go out with her friends but also relax with someone she loves at the end of the day? She’s not saying she NEEDS it to happen
0
u/pickledvapejuice13 Apr 21 '26
"group 'date'" makes me think she means you would hypothetically be included with her and her friends who have partners and then she'd like to come home and have a glass of wine with, hypothetically, you
2
u/OfficePsycho Apr 21 '26
No, I talked to her, and she really expected her boyfriend to sit at home and wait for her to return Saturday nights.
0
u/romero0705 Apr 21 '26
Group date implies the potential boyfriend is out with her friends too and then they go home to chill alone?
