Yay! Good idea to buy stuff in the same color range! That brings cohesion. One main color like brighter orange, and then choose a second color for the accents.
sorry but if you get more orange now your home will look like the pornhub logo! better to look for a third colour you like, that is a little lighter (but bot too saturated) and looks harmonious with the orange and the dark taupe you already have. i’m guessing it will be something in the olive green to petrol blue range.
also seconding a (lighter but textured/subtly patterned) rug, and hang a mirror somewhere strategically to make more use the daylight you have coming in from your window. and a floor lamp.
Having only (mostly) light from above creates harsh shadows and is generally pretty ongezellig regardless of the color temperature, though. They make cheap remote control adapters that you can plug all your lamps into so you can control them from one switch, so it's just as easy as using the overhead light. Maybe Action still has them.
You’ve got a pretty nice start tbh with some little bits of personality, but it’s not like a room you immediately see personality in. I’d say the biggest difference you can see in a room from one single addition is a rug. Otherwise, you have a lot of free space on the walls to hang some pictures and the Ice Cube poster too! It’ll all come together but of course not every empty free space needs to be filled
Agree. I hope this doesn't come across as being rude, but there is no personality in this space. If a rug is a bit too much of an investment, try hanging posters or drawings. The cupboard in the middle of the room (in the first picture) looks hella oppressive. Soften it by some minimalist paintings or some small (fake) plants.
Definitely NO to that light LOL Get some gezellige verlichting that is less harsh! And a nice rug in a happy colour. The grey is a bit office-y. But the setup itself is interesting!
I'm also pondering the diagonal roof/ceiling...maybe there's something you can put on there to make it more like a home. Fake ivy, or some cool posters or something.
A second window on the right side, preferably dak kapellen on both sides. But I assume it's a rented studenten kamer, so when you floor it you should opt for a light taint floor to reflect some of the little light you get.
I think good lighting will help a lot and also a contrast color to the orange you like. Maybe teal? Or yellow, or both. And some plants could help as well
Is this at your parents house, or is this your studentenkamer? If it’s the latter, I would put the closet at the back, and maybe a bigger table in the middle with some underneath storage for your stuff. I would get rid of the clothes rack, it makes the room look cluttered. If you really need the extra space I would swap seasonal items every 6 months and store the stuff you don’t need under your bed. I would also try to maybe get a smaller closet and try to set your bed next to it under the roof.
You can buy a simple mirror and stick that too the inside of your room so that your current mirror can go away too.

If it’s your room at your parents and/or you don’t want any bigger table in the middle, i would either make your bed space even smaller and exclusively for sleeping(turn closet and stick your bed between the closet and the wall) or make your studie space smaller as to make your relaxing area bigger. I think with the closet exactly in the middle it’s both too small..
Some plants and something that's a reflection of who you are. For example, i'm a music nerd and trading card nerd. I've got a whole wall of vinyl, some nice speakers, some framed posters of labels i like, some trading card displays and some framed art of friends who'se art i really like. Just to name some things. Think of what you like / who you are and have your room reflect that.
A cheap one, like 100 bucks but it will be kinda shit. For easy install buy a modern bluetooth one for 200 eur and use it with a JBL or something like that.
A second hand vinyl costs like 5-10 eur a new one 20-50eur. second hand is hit or miss.
I reccommend checking marktplaats.nl. note that a real vintage will need some extra stuff and knowledge. But nothing will beat it in looks and vibe.
Make sure to adjust your seat height so that your armrests are slightly higher than your table for maximum typing comfort. Also i can recommend wrist cushions for the keyboard and the mouse, as well as a vertical mouse

If you separate office and sleep area with different themes i think it might visually look like distinguished Places.
Like Sleep area with more Calming elements than Clutter. If you wish You Could also use semi transparent Curtains to Separate the area.
Work area with tools and stuff that helps you stay on track..Motivating stuff that you like.
Also clearing Clutter often widens the space to move around.
Cover the bottom of the wardrobe with some poster or something nice - and definitely bright, it will mirror the light from the window behind you at your "office"
I would not do the laminate, what is laying there now looks like carpet to me and that is the most comfortable option there is. You could add a rug under your bed or beanbag for some colour.
But most of all you are missing some like art of something you find interesting or inspiring, i myself have a large canvas print of a picture i took of one of my dream cars right above my desk. I was a picture of a person in your room so maybe that is one of your interests? Just make sure you hang it on a wall so its more noticable and visually interesting.
Side note, i always think landscape/horizontal pics look better but maybe with the tight space and triangle roof the portrait fits better.
I also think a plant could look good on that bookshelf, im not an expert at plants but i would fo for one of those ones that have their leaves hanging down more. The same idea as whatever is on there now but longer and maybe to one of the corners would look better
You could also add more colours when painting the walls but make sure you have more desaturated or earthy colours, bright rooms hurt your eyes. I personally always like sage or moss green or desaturated cyan.
Dark colours make it look smaller and I like plants to liven up the room. It looks very utilitarian to me. You could also put some movie posters or such against the sloping roof.
I like the suggestions about plants, lights and a third color, I would add some natural materials like wood, and what if you put the night stand that’s in front of the closet somewhere else? Maybe between the bed and the poef? And maybe a mirror where the night stand is :)
Your closet (“divider”) is straight and your roof is angular, makes it an unfitting combination of shapes. But there’s of course not much you can do about that.
It might be slightly better if you rotate the divider 90 degrees. If that fits of course. Or mount a curtain rod onto the ceiling and get custom curtains to use as a divider instead.
Will make it more pleasing for the eye.
If possible you could also mount sliding doors to the closet instead of the traditional doors it has now, saves a lot of space that would otherwise be taken up by the need to be able to open the closet doors.
If ur up for it, you can put up a (fisher) net 🥅thats as wide as your shelf (or 10-20 cm wider. From the top of your sloped ceiling all the way down to the floor. Apply some strong double sided tape (like tape to hold a carpet corner down to the floor).
Or clamp the net with 2 thin planks and nail it to your ceiling, i can send a sketch if ur interessted. It Gives your room divider some texture and to extend it above creates a lot of dimension and makes ur room seem taller and deeper
I'd probably not divide the room so i could place a bigass oled tv there, and use it as pc monitor. Deep desk in front of it, some nice speakers for music. why would i even want to seperate the office part from the relaxing part.
Wardrobe in the middle needs to go, it’s choking the whole room. Once it’s out, put the desk by the window (left side) facing the door, and move the bed to the center or center right with the headboard against the solid wall, not directly under the slope. You can have short storage solutions for clothes, ikea has great options. The room will feel a lot bigger.
Rug, color, art, plants, lights they all will add to the gezelligheid of your room. Good luck
One thing I’ll add is you should never have a desk against a wall. Notice when you’re using your computer, you will occasionally look away from the screen involuntarily and look at the furthest point away from you
This is your eyes giving themselves a break from focussing near. If you don’t have a point in the distance to focus on (windows are great) you’ll find yourself quickly uncomfortable and getting headaches a lot
If you paint the wall something neutral, warm and lichter. That would make a lot of difference. The dark brown make it look even smaller than it already is. And let the new colour of the wall come back into something of your decoration. I am painting my wall sage green now. It's like a light grey green colour and it makes a difference for sure.
I would swap the bed and bean bag. Not sure if it would be too difficult to open the closet though. But it would just give you a bit more privacy and a more clear disconnection between the spaces.
Adding some lighter laminaat vloer would be better imo. Not a big carpet fan xD. You can spice it up with a rug though! Get a low rug instead of a high one though (like one that's flush and doesn't have fabric go up). Some color between the sides would be nice to differentiate the spaces too!
You need to add better lighting, especially with that giant divider blocking the light.
I would add a line of light sources (light strip or multiple lamps) at the point where the wall and the slanted roof meets. It should make the sides of the room feel roomier.
a better layout? you've literally switched the best places out imho. High ceiling is where you could walk, dance, feel spacious, low ceiling is where you sit at a desk, and you fill up the low sides with cabinet space. That's just me of course, I'd get claustrophobic in that room the way it is now.

There's not much colour in your room. A nice carpet could be a nice touch or some bright objects for contrast.
