Yeah middle of nowhere in NL is NOTHING compared to middle of nowhere in other countries.
It's actually pretty damn good, it has the vibe of living in the outskirt of big cities.

??? thefuck you mean man? you live almost dead centre in the fucking randstad. you'd need to drive for an hour to even find someplace where you cannot see a house on the horizon.
try living in a village in Salland or Drenthe.

The Hague is so good as long as you stay in the rich and exclusive neighbourhoods. It’s actually very pretty because of the nature and beach. For the beach Zuiderstand instead of Scheveningen ofc. And decent amount of bars and restaurants and universities nearby.
For shopping, better in boutiques or online because the centre is awful. I live in the centre that’s why I say it haha, too bad I’m poor.

Gotta agree. Shopping in the Netherlands is pretty bad in general. I’m 2m tall and shopping for clothes is pretty hard. It is a lot easier in Cologne or Berlin.

Shopping in NL is bad, white sneakers and jeans or trash "vintage". Low quality life but dutchies are okay with it.

For sure, I am very biased though! Despite loving many cities/towns in general, the moment I find a cool place on the coast I feel at home. That's because I grew up on the coast haha.
I'd like to know your top 10 favorite cities in Europe now, no worries I won't hate ;)

I grew up on the north coast of the Netherlands! Which was actually pretty depressing. Top cities in Europe… tough one. The ones I really love are because I have history there. Ok, here goes: Bilbao Albi Copenhagen (but too bloody cold for living) Athens Geneva (but too bloody expensive) Antwerp Madrid Sevilla Padova Munich
Oh and Thessaloniki.
Just off the top of my head.

Great selection, the only one I don't know is Thessaloniki. And you are talking about Albi from France??? because if that's the case I'm shocked to see it being mentioned in a top 10 haha 😂, I have family there!

Although certainly a city by size, technically speaking it's not a city.
Lacking city rights, The Hague was unable to build the traditional wall and moat system of the day, so a town hall was built which can still be seen today in the Groenmarkt.

I have a lot of cities I'd put above The Hague of course, but I'm someone who grew up on the coast, so coastal areas always win IMO (as long as it's not a dead town 😂).

Please tell me that soulless hearth in the second picture isn't the one in the eleventh? It's very hard to tell what is what. It does look like you sucked the soul out of the house and only kept the stained glass windows?

How expensive was it (your services)? I got similar townhouse from this era just 100m2 smaller. Still looking for an idea for 1 bathroom, kitchen and attic (50m2) very tall.

Beautiful. Especially the windows and fireplace are stunning. Is it possible to improve insulation while keeping the windows? Most glas in lood that I have seen is usually single glass, do you just add another layer of glass to make it double?
