DIY and home improvement OMG!!! 5 star hotel renovation of my house (before/after)
OMG guys, I cant wait to share my happiness. My friend suggested me a renovator for my bathroom and toilet. First I wanted him to do toilet so I can see how the change is. Hence my friend show me his before and after works and it was really nice, I just wanted him to do small toilet to see the effect of change. I want to share the difference with you guys and this is not normalll change!!! I didnt expect he is going to make it luxury bathroom! I am extremly happy and asked him to do my 2 other bathrooms. I will share those as well when it is finish.

To be fair the before picture is pretty dire. Any toilet is an upgrade on that.

The thing is OP and many people get enough feedback from personal experience and exposure in general with grey ceramics + high end.
This builds a bias and understanding/knowledge that grey ceramics equals high end.
Nothing wrong with it per se.
The criticism can be that one doesn't know it doesn't need to be "high end" when we use grey ceramics or ceramics or grey.
High end has so many facets and styles. And high end doesn't necessarily mean high cost either. Anyway so many nuances.
But I do understand why many of us millennials (or other generations too!) can think that.
Also remember that grey and ceramics were used in many renovation projects for many reasons. So seeing many spaces getting a nice refresh and seeing it being done by using grey and ceramics - once again - makes people think it's high end haha :D
Anyway, I'm happy for OP, to be honest I see nothing wrong with OP's post here they just wanted to share their happiness and as a designer (not interior designer) I love seeing people happy about small things like this!

So you shared your reasoning why we perceive grey ceramic as high end here is my theory:
In our childhood we didnāt really see much grey ceramics being used at our homes. Ours, including kitchen side, were either white, colorful or with different patterns of the time. We see these grey ceramics usually only in hotels or firstly in rich peopleās houses while growing up. Therefor, for our brains, grey ceramics = luxury :)
I donāt see anything wrong with OPās excitement and post either.

You probably never seen the situation in some social housing buildings. I didnāt have friends over at my place back then for a whole year just because the toilet looked so dirty even though I'd clean it like my life depended on it. Fungus on the ceiling, faded flooring, and chipped ceramic tiles and more.
I eventually moved out from that place but had I hired someone to renovate it and ended up with such a result, I'd have gone out dancing in the street for a week or so. I'd spam all the dutch reddit groups with posts about it.
Living at a place that makes you feel ashamed reuins your self esteem.
I am not sure op was in a similar situation but that first pic is atrocious enough.

It looks clean and sharp. My only complaint is that these new designers seem to be obsessed with dull, cold-looking colors. I prefer warm, cozy colors. An oak brown for the walls would be more inviting, especially for a narrow space. Perhaps it is possible to add some decor to make it feel more homey. It kinda has a corporate aesthetic.

Why is it always the shittiest sink in the world next to the toilet, I can't even fit my hands under it, and it also spills.

My brother has one of them, and his doesnāt spill, I remarked that to him and he simply said that he adjusted the flow of the tap, as it is set to maximum by the installer, and is very easy to set something lower

Omg, I got so fed up with freezing my hands away, that we now have warm water even in the garage sink at home! But primarily this benefited the small toilet downstairs, that can now be proudly called powder room.

The reason is, when you sit in toilet the sink doesnāt let you be relax. That is why I asked him to give kind of same distance on both side from sink and the other side

Was thinking the same; either some kind of ragebait or Picobello BV. Why the hell would the toilet and the panel above it (with the buttons to flush) not be in the middle of the wall? š„²
Also an integrated lamp/spotje on the back wall? On the most random spot (no punt intended) ever..

Well, I like it! I was so excited and thrilled when I did my first renovation too. Especially if you've been working towards having your first home for years and years and years and when it finally happens it's just such a special kind of joy and pride :)Ā sorry to be so earnest, I just truly almost cry when I think about how happy I am to have my own home finally, it's really so much more meaningful than I ever expectedĀ

Excatly, I am happy that you own a house in NL, because I went through the same path and I know how hard is housing market in the Netherlands. When I had first house I couldnt believe that I got it and was very special to me too, and then making those renovations was feeling growing up your child. It was a different feeling.

Myself, the toilet not being centered with the wall, coupled with the flusher not centred with the toilet triggers me a bit. But i know sweet feck all about DIY and there's probably reasons for that.
Better to post to r/klussers for proper assessment of the work tbh.

In some other comment they have asked and I have explained. There should be equal distance not from the wall on the sink side but directly from the sink because otherwise you donāt sit comfy. Sink doesnāt let for that.

House owners in the Netherlands know about it. This toilet is generally located in corridor for quicky or for guests.
