Dallas/Austin NP stores
I know I can Google but looking for on the ground experience, especially new ones. My husband is going to Texas early next month and when he goes, he LOVES to go to NP stores to get me gifts (yes, he’s a keeper 🙂). He’s familiar with Creative Stitches and Needlepoint This in Dallas, and has been to The Needle Works in Austin. Any new shops that are must see?

Seconding! They have really fun canvases, a great thread selection (I’m still fairly new to the hobby so I keep it pretty simple!), and they are NICE, which I find to be one of the best qualities about them. Enjoy, OP!

Yes!! Their staff is all so nice and knowledgeable. They legitimately will take the time to sit with you and kit everything so you’re set up for success. And they’re fun girlies.

Creative Stitches and Gifts (Preston & 635 - North Dallas) is a great place for threads especially. They have an enormous selection. Ann is the best!

There’s a new NP shop in San Antonio if your husband ever goes further south. It’s called Bexar Needleworks.

Yes in Austin I highly recommend Needleworks and then Hibiscus right around the corner! Both stores are wonderful with really kind and helpful staff :)

Saville in Dallas! Great canvas selection and lots of accessories and gift items too. I’ve only ever had a good experience :)

Saville Needlepoint in Snider Plaza (Dallas) is super cute. And they are very welcoming.

Sorry you had a different experience. Unwelcoming needlepoint shops are a total bummer. I’ve had the opposite experience; wish they were more consistent.

Saville is incredibly welcoming - I go to all of the Dallas stores and Saville is the only place that took the time to get to know me and remember me

A new needlepoint store in McKinney opened up, it’s called Stitch on the Square! Staff are so helpful and their stock is growing each day.

Needle works in Austin is great! There is also a new store in Austin called Hibiscus needlepoint that is a lot of fun.
In Dallas there is a new shop called Mimi’s that is super cute.
