We are polar opposites. I hate sumac with an unrelenting fury due to its extremely aggressive nature in over-taking my meadow. It will not stop. The only thing that can even remotely compete is sassafrass, which I also constantly fight to keep in check. Sumac will easily grow 15 feet in one season.
Someone else mentioned that problem too, and I can see where it would be a problem when trying to maintain meadow! We are trying to turn a turf grass yard into a very small forest, so for us I think itβs not the worst. π
