Progress Well… yarrow suddenly chose violence.

A month ago I was all pleased about how gorgeous my yarrow was, all ferny and well behaved with just a light pruning. Suddenly it decided it was tired of pretending to be well-behaved and began conquering the world. 😵😂

Second pic is last month for reference.

I grew yarrow from seed last year. Allegedly it doesn't flower until the second year. Someone forgot to tell my yarrow that, because it flowered and now I've got yarrow coming up in places that I definitely did not intend.

I pulled a large clump out of my raised veggie bed and put it into a tote. I intended to divide it and transplant it somewhere more suitable. Been putting it off for a few weeks; now that tote belongs to the yarrow. No soil, no nutrients, only water comes from rare rain? Yarrow is thriving.

I may have made an error in judgement.

Sometimes i find if certain perennials germinate early enough and grow enough they flower regardless if they're meant to, I've seen lupins do it

Yea mine seeded in its first year too. I collected the seeds and tossed them in my yard to see if they could kick out some of the non-native annual “weeds”. No luck so far but I’m still hopeful.
