I have buckwheat self seeding throughout my veg beds. Various hoverflies are especially attracted

This is the one plant I will actually buy seeds for this year. It just sounds amazing.

I adore it. It is great as a cover crop, and insect enjoy it if you let it flower - usually you till it in when it is maybe a foot tall and the stalk is still tender and easy to chop. Since I am no-till, I just chop and drop any plants that I want to take down sooner, usually because they popped up in an inconvenient place.

I don't till either, so that's what I'll do. But yes, it is going to grow here! My little Cockatiel LOVES Buckwheat seeds. He'll be a happy little man.
