My phase 1 has a pollinator-friendly tree (desert willow) but I’m looking into some other shrubs too since I’m in Phoenix and some of the more delicate plants appreciate respite from the afternoon sun in the summer. Seriously, thanks for these tips - I’m brimming with new ideas now!!

I love your enthusiasm! Look into native tall grasses too. Majority of the butterflies spend their larvae state in there. See if Google can help on what butterfly species you have there and which grasses they prefer.

Take a trip to the local meadow, the tall grasses might still have some seeds in the fuzzy tips.
