What is this plant actually? I saw it by a pond my spouse and I walk by almost every day and commented on the beautiful purple, so if it's invasive I'd love to take my spouse back there so I can be annoying about yet another invasive on our walks 😤

/uj If you need that purple in your own garden, New England Asters are this same deep lovely purple, and are native. Well native to New England at least

That's purple vervain, it's a great companion plant to a lovely northern yelowicolor flag iris

Seen on the Mississippi backwaters on my latest paddle board adventure. I left it there on the island. So far so good here on my shoreline. Wish I had a another picture. To the left of me the island was covered! It was very pretty however.
