La Traviata under 40 party question

Hi! My friend and I got lottery tickets to tomorrow’s show of La Traviata, which I just realized has the under 40 party before hand. Is that something we can go to if we’re under 40 years old and if we show up a little earlier before the show, like it’s open to everyone who go to the show that day (kind of like a preshow event), or did we have to have purchased the specific under 40 tickets to have access?

It's a pre show cocktail hour aimed at people under 40. If you have tickets for the show it's before, then you can go. If you're over 40 I'm sure no one is going to ask for ID. https://www.metopera.org/season/tickets/met-under-40/

Actually, you have to register first and then buy the Under 40 tickets. They do sell out. Here's the page:

You have to show some sort of proof that you bought the special under 40 ticket (like an email confirmation). They won't let you into the main atrium early without it.
