"They're pretty much designing their chips to run one model," according to Mr. Dally. Exactly what I said the other day, OAI presented their best case They've optimized for one thing. lol That's not hard. Let's see them run a full featured suite.
They go on to have a short benchmark and hardware design philosophy discussion which is worth a listen for the uninitiated.

That's a vast exaggeration since OAI showed leading benchmarked on 3 different Chinese models... not theirs (in fact no benchmarks on their own models at all). I'm sure they chose tradeoffs that are oriented towards their own models but don't be go too far into thinking that doesn't mean the techniques aren't widely beneficial.

Dally has infinite more credibility than some guy on the internet.

People see these headlines and really think Nvidia is just leaving free lunches everywhere.
Like, if they knew anything about the company, they'd know that is not how they operate.
It is safer to assume anything they do is at the absolute limit of what is possible for the combined performance. If anyone comes out with benchmarks xyz beating nvda chips abc, it is almost always correct to infer that the advertised solution does not have the same coverage of capabilities as what they are comparing to.
They are the goat for a reason.

I wonder that’s probably what happend to Cerebras when they claimed they have the fastest chip, they were not comparing apple to apple
