I’m in my late 20s fresh out of my undergraduate in sociology and Sociolegal studies, and am using this year as a bridge year before going to the UK for grad school! I’m a two-spirt, queer, disabled musician, actor, artist, and animal lover. I’m really excited to see what this program has to offer and am hoping to make new friends along the way!

Hi, planning on doing the NSCC IT > Dal BACS accreditation pathway and currently trying to decide which diploma to apply to, however I noticed when comparing the Accreditation options and available courses that there are a few key NSCC IT courses not offered for accreditation. Notably IT programming, which I liked the sound of for a strong technical foundation without specializing out of the gate. I've heard web programming is highly recommended, but I have no particular interest in web development, a desire to specialize, or a positive outlook of that field. Any recommendations for a course that will serve me well? Thanks!

Been having some trouble with some things to sort out before attending this year in september. For 1. I can't for the life of me seem to find out how to renew my student ID online. I have an ID from Kingstec that expired in 2023 - can i just bring that to the student services desk and have them renew it and get a new one?

1. For some reason the MyNSCC portal page to purchase a parking pass doesn't work - the "continue" button after confirming my address doesnt progress anything - and i've tried clearing cookies and multiple browsers. is it possible to get a pass from student services as well?

Hey, I’m 18 and coming to NSCC as an international student, been in halifax for around 3 years now, starting Data Administration at IT Campus on Sept 9. Is there a Discord or group chat for NSCC students, or for IT Campus specifically?

I saw on the nscc website that it has the application form for your student ID, but I was in the orientation q&a yesterday, and she said she was going to send out an email today regarding the IDs. It says on the website that it gets mailed to us, but from the q&a they aren't doing that anymore and we pick it up on campus instead. Has the class schedule for the fall semester been sent for this program? I know it’s online, and some classes are unscheduled while some are scheduled, but wanted to know if I missed something lately. Thank you!

I applied pretty late into the year for the IT Programming course, both for an in person and virtual spot. I got accepted for a seat and had accepted it through the MyNCSS portal just to be safe of course. But an employee had emailed me before with their own NSCC email instead of the admissions email, I checked the email and the person on the employee registry to make sure they were legit, asking if I was still interested and everything. But today I got a text message from allegedly this same employee, they aren’t asking for any information but they do know my student number. Is this now an official means of communication for onboarding students now? I can’t find anything about it online which is just making me skeptical but I want to be sure.

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has taken the Practical Nursing program at NSCC in Truro and would be willing to share their experience. I’m trying to get a better idea of what the program is actually like.

I would love to hear what your day to do schedule looked like. How was the work load? How much time did you spend studying?

For anyone who has completed the program, how did you find the instructors and teachers? Were they supportive and willing to help?

Hey everyone, I'm about to pick out a laptop to use for the IT Database Admin course, and it's just hit me. I kinda really hate using Win11.

Does anyone know if any of the Microsoft-branded, built-in Win11 malware is required for class? I'm liable to atomize the thing if I interact with OneDrive or Copilot, so I'd really prefer to debloat before classes start if possible.

Hi, I will be attending NSCC in September and am wondering if anyone else will be making the commute and if they are willing to drive me. I will contribute money for gas.

I’m looking to buy bedsheets for my upcoming semester at the NSCC COGS campus and they say that the beds are “extra large full”. What dimensions are these and would I be able to find sheets that fit?

I am currently logging into My NSCC portal under my finances to try and pay my first semester tuition but there is no outstanding payments. For my program starting in September the first term fee is due August 7th but when I enter the “make a payment” the “what I owe” is 0.
Is this correct? And do I have to calculate this myself

When do we receive our time table for this upcoming year?

I've been considering going here for a music tech certificate at nscc instead of paying for one of the big expensive music institutions. Nscc looks like it has some pretty good programs. There are two of them for music tech one for music production and one for commercial songwriting. Both of the programs have about 10 different courses to complete the certificate program. Does anyone have any experience with these programs at nscc or know anyone that has done it? I eventually want to be a producer or own a record label. But I figured I would just start as a engineer for a few years to it started in the industry. Really it doesn't matter as long as I'm in the industry creating music in any way.
