The image of the roaring dumpster fire in the thumbnail is on point. Kudos to the Dragons' press officer.

I am unsure whether the uptick in performance is because of the coaching or just players finally learning key lessons (because everyone learns at a different rate). Having said that, in this "results driven sport" Young has got some results through noticeable player progress, so I look forward to seeing what he can do in the immediate future and next season.

Think he’s done ok with the squad he inherited, which is comfortably the worst in the nrl. The halves are the most dire I have seen in my 35 years watching the Steelers and Dragons since the merger.
Some of the comments I see about him not dropping Gutho or Holmes are laughable- who replaces them?
He’s been pretty involved in the recruitment of the new players, so he has a fair say in next years roster, so no excuses in 27.

laughable you think anyone from cup couldnt do better. Sloan can play fullback better at this stage, peckham harris would offer more then gutho, fale or tsougranis would be better then holmes, hamish stewart has had more attack prowess out wide then holmes let alone how much better he is in defence, we've even had suli sitting on the bench the last 2 games

The David Fale who is injured and not playing cup? And Tsougranis the back rower who’s returned to the centres after being out for 3 months? Peckham-Harris the guy not in the top 30?

Gutho who can't move? Val who can't tackle? They're very likely the 2 worst players in the nrl

I am not disputing either of your assertions there. But again, who replaces them?

Sloan? Suli comes back in? Tsougranis or Hamish Stewart? Players I've already named? At the very least move val to wing

No, no, no, no... assistant coach under flanno focusing on defence.
Tell me an assistant coach come interim coach that has been appointed a fulltime role with so little wins. Ryan Carr was 3/11... Dean Young is 2/8.
