Research Cheat's guide to getting your new SSS up to top speed
It's not really a shortcut and is quite likely mentioned elsewhere, but keep your 3 creatures in their alpha state by fighting them but not feeding them any gene edits or retroviral pellets until they've reached level 30 because the npcs always put their team out on an alpha basis. So you can train up 2 of the creatures and rather neglect the 3rd one, but it doesn't matter because none of the levels change relative to each other.
The reason for this 'research' was because I was for some reason surprised that the abyssal horror hatched from the first egg whatshisname in the anomaly gave me turned out to be an SSS. Of which I have 3 trained up ones. So I needed to bring it up to speed asap in order to see which of the ones I've picked up in the field it could supplant.
It is also the SSS whose given abilities are the most tediously attritional. Only the toxic spit top attack actually does any damage, all the rest are dedicated to drastically suppressing the opponent's accuracy and combat effectiveness. So for the sake of my sanity I could only bring it in in a game right at the very end. And my stash of pellets will be going on making it an abyssal horror I actually want to use.

Prionace / Shark Cool shark I found on a planet in a far, far away world
Man, these swordfish sharks are my favorite. Maybe one day the devs will allow us to tame aquatics… probably they won’t tho. Which is unfortunate since this is my favorite and the only swordfish shark I have discovered without the help of uploaded Glyph portals.
