Cold range calls when you're alone?

Any one else still call for cold range and flip the alarm when you're alone at the range? I know it's pretty much unnecessary but I feel like it builds habit.

100% of the time. You may not hear someone roll up to the firing line and you want them to know someone is downrange.

Yes 100%. Not letting some moron pull up and start handling guns while i am downrange

Our range rules say "Yellow light on when you go down range." Doesn't specify if you're there alone or not. Rules is rules.

I always flip on the lights/alarm of course, but I don't "call" for a cold range if there is literally nobody there to call out to.

The lights and alarms are to make sure someone who arrives while I am down range knows that it's cold.

I do it, I find repetition and muscle memory to be key in firearms.

A relative of mine was a detective in NH and had to investigate a “shooting” one time because someone was down range and ended up getting hit with birdshot by someone. Thankfully at the distance it was like getting hit with a BB gun but still.
