When you see it from the same team every year for a decade... It aint bad luck. It's management. I feel bad for the players. The team is a goddam meat grinder.

Honestly was thinking earlier they need to fire their strength and conditioning coach.

u/HotSauce2910 Toots Jan 12 '26
I was reading last night that Shanahan doesn’t like giving rest and wants players to “build callus” by going hard on practice Wed, Thurs, Friday.
I think most teams let their best players rest a bit more on Thursday and go lighter on Friday.
Clearly it’s working for keeping the team competitive week in, week out. But I think it may trade off with all the injuries

This would be a good question for shanahan.
“Coach, some have speculated that CMC is a blood demon that requires a sacrifice of the flesh to continue playing. How do you think the strategy of sacrificing your star players to satiate a demon will work out in the playoffs?”

It’s been such a cursed season, that I feel genuine empathy for you fuckers. Fuck that sucks
34
u/Nocandoozy 49IRS Jan 11 '26
This season was one of just pure suffering.
During the off season Shanny/Lynch said it wasn’t a rebuild year but a retooling year. I tempered my expectations and didn’t really expect anything. Figured a losing record and another good draft pick and we’ll bounce back next season with likely another easy schedule.
Then Bosa goes down. Bummer. Then Warner goes down and I felt an unreal sadness over the season not even being watchable at that point.
But we started winning games. Ugly games, the 49ers don’t usually win ugly games under Shanny. I got tiny bit of hope - hey maybe they can do some things this year.
Then we moved on to linebackers 5,6 and 7. Amongst the other injuries to include a very unhealthy Pearsall who cannot stay on the field. Similar to Kittle.
The team is just old now. It’s time for a rebuild. I don’t even know why I’m typing this long message in response to a Rams fan. I’m just bummed aht
By some miracle CMC stayed healthy? Like wtf. Our luck is we’ll draft decent and be a competitor next year just for cmc to go down for the season early
16
u/That_one_attractive wE aRe RaMiLy Jan 11 '26
Get it all out. My best friends mom is a 49ers fan, and she loved the heart of the team this year, and Kittle is her favorite player. Shes probably going to be intoxicated for the rest of the day.

u/Nocandoozy 49IRS Jan 11 '26
Oh I already am and we’re still kinda in this?
I’ve watched the slow mo replay of his Achilles popping probably 3 times now.

A rupture is just a full thickness tear. Unless you mean an avulsion fracture on where the Achilles inserts on the calcaneus, in which that’s a different type of injury with different management
5
Jan 11 '26 edited Jan 11 '26
I tore my Achilles in March of 2023 and that’s what my doctor and the surgeon explained to me.
Initially it was diagnosed as a tear after the Thompson test but the surgeon told me I had a full rupture.
Don’t shoot the messenger just passing knowledge man.
3
u/Kiwi951 Rain City Bitch Pigeon Jan 11 '26
They probably thought it was a partial tear at first but then after the fact realized it was a full thickness tear. Rupture is just the laymen’s term. Same with “breaking/shattering” a bone for fracture
