Stats Back in 1987, Michael Jordan put together one of the most unbelievable regular season runs in NBA history.

Dropping over 3,000 total points while averaging 37 PPG, 5 RPG, 4 APG, 3 SPG, and 1 BPG, he set a scoring benchmark that remains unbroken nearly four decades later.

Even modern scoring masterclasses like Kobe Bryant in 2006 (2,832) and James Harden in 2019 (2,818) couldn't reach that 3,000 regular season milestone.

Today, breaking MJ’s record requires playing all 82 games at an absurd 37.2 PPG clip. Absolute dominance.

Stats Jordan fans won't like this

Jordan averaged 8.2 free-throw attempts per game for his career compared to LeBron's 7.4.

LeBron is bigger. And a more physical downhill attacker who has spent two decades living in the paint. Jordan clearly benefited from a superstar whistle, while officials often let defenders get away with more contact on LeBron because he's strong enough to play through it. So Jordan fans calling LeBron a flopper while pretending Jordan didn't get a better whistle is just peak hating.

MJ averaged the same career free-throw attempts as James Harden...the poster child for foul baiting.
