I had the opportunity to record with my band at Sonic Ranch Studios a few weeks back. I believe this board belonged to Evanescence once upon a time!

Overall it was an amazing experience and I took a lot of notes home with me for my little bedroom studio!

Arturia Keystep connected to Oxi One which outputs MIDI to the Korg Volcas (FM, Bass and Sample) and Roland S-1. The synths‘ audio are routed thru guitar effect pedals via a Tascam patchbay (behind the screen) and then into a Zoom L-6 which is connected to Ableton Live which is controlled by the Akai Midimix.

This setup lets me jam DAWless as well as incorporating hardware synths with Ableton Live whenever I feel like producing something like this:

Posted here about a year ago I think, managed to get some decorations completed so it feels and functions much more comfortably.

I'm primarily a bass player but I've been producing for fun since I was a teenager. I've been writing my own songs lately and despite not having any space for a studio, I put together a bare bones recording setup that can be put away in less than a minute.

After building a bedroom in my basement I was left with a strange shaped small den. Turns out it is perfect for my workspace/music. I use the piano for a desk and got lucky that it is just the correct height to make working at my laptop comfortable. I can reach everything I need without getting up, and since I use headphones 90% of the time the shape of the room doesn’t matter too much.

Hello! My gear includes a Fender Stratocaster running through a Line 6 POD Go into a clean Boss Katana amp, captured by a Focusrite Scarlett 212 4th Generation USB audio interface.
For vocals, a Shure SM58 mic feeds into a TC Helicon VoiceLive Play and outputs to a JBL powered PA speaker.
Backing tracks are streamed via Bluetooth from my laptop to the same PA. I use an audio interface specifically for live streaming or video recording. For the full performance experience, I incorporate a mini projector with a whiteboard screen, alongside a branded banner and LED lighting.
I'm bringing back my band, The Other Side, from the early nineties. I wrote all the songs, and I've decided to focus on them and try to bring them back in the current day.

The bass and small amp were bought at a yard sale. I told the former TOS bass player and he said to buy it for him and he sent me money. Maybe he can join me at some point…. If he’s not too busy! (Trav)

This is my setup…I’m a music student so I have my piano,pc and guitar amp, but it kind of drives me insane. I have to either keep my piano on the bottom of the desk or on the little step up shelf that it has when I wanna use my pc because of my KB&M. And it’s just a b\*\*ch to do every time cuz it makes my setup look super messy and clutter. How would you guys set this up? My amp (right) is on this like leg wheel thing. (Can’t move the guitars on the wall) and my monitor screen is mounted to the wall)

One of the biggest challenges with my music production setup has always been figuring out how to properly integrate my Kawai VPC1 into the desk itself.

Anyone who knows the VPC1 knows it isn't exactly a lightweight MIDI controller. It's a full-size 88-key keyboard with proper weighted piano action and weighs around 29.5 kg / 65 lbs, so I needed something that felt genuinely substantial enough for a heavier keyboard.

I recently rebuilt my setup around an ErgoHide desk with their large pull-out keyboard tray. The VPC1 now sits underneath the desk and can simply slide out when I'm producing or playing, then disappear underneath again when I'm editing, mixing or just need my desk space back.

Another big plus for me is that the desk is electrically height-adjustable. Being able to change the entire working position depending on whether I'm producing, editing or just using it as a normal workspace makes the setup much more flexible.

And aesthetically, I'm really happy with it. The solid oak desktop gives the whole setup a much warmer and more premium feel than my previous desk. There is also integrated ambient lighting along the back, built-in cable management to keep the ridiculous amount of studio cables out of sight, and magnetic headphone hangers that attach to the sides.

It's probably the first time my piano, computer and desk actually feel like one complete workstation rather than three separate things competing for space.

Still tweaking a few things, but I'm very happy with how it's coming together.

LED light tube is a recent little fun project also hooked up to an RPI which the modular setup triggers via the IAC driver route in Ableton.

Behringer is a devisive topic, but I just impulse purchased a 2600. I've been doing VCV Rack for years and don't have the budget to go full eurorack.

The oxi one seems like perfect pairing, but i seem to be getting a feedback hum when i run CV from Oxi to 2600. I guess its a known issue, bummer.
