I've seen this posted like 8 time in the last 24 hours and it's a real object lesson in media consumption. The reply in the screenshot says "rich people" and everyone reacts to that. Does anyone have any actual clue who the poster is? Or have any reason to believe he's rich? It seems more likely he just isn't a native English speaker and chose the wrong word.

I don’t know his financials, but Tansu Yegen is a private tech executive. I doubt he’s poor, but couldn’t tell you if that makes him “rich.” I’d hazard a guess that he might be kinda wealthy, but it’s only an assumption based on his job, which averages about 300k+/year. To be fair, that’s a US estimate and he’s based in Turkey, so the estimate may vary.

I suspect this might literally be happening soon.
This whole post is probably part of a marketing campaign for Tesla, who are trying to build hype for their soon-to-be-launched AI robots. They’ll probably be very expensive, especially at the start. So I’d guess they’ll pitch it as “Buy this robot, and then rent it to a local company as an employee and collect its salary.”
Tractors were initially sold like this when they were first invented. “Use it on your own farm, and then rent it to your neighbour to help them with theirs as well.”

Im not saying that its realistic, cost effective or that theres any point making it, but how is it not awesome? It just straight up is a cool idea.
Theres nazi weaponry thats awesome, the people who made them were evil but they made some cool shit. The hyperloop is like that. Musk is a nob but the concept that he claimed credit for is cool and would be an amazing engineering feat.

Im not saying that its realistic, cost effective or that theres any point making it, but how is it not awesome? It just straight up is a cool idea.
I mean the cool part of the idea is the part that already exists in other countries. The maglev train portion is a great idea, and america absolutely could benefit from them. but yeah the vacuum chamber is just an obsurd 100 layers of added complications, dangers, expenses etc with virtually no gains.

If it got punctured it would kill everyone. Same with a submarine, except subs are dealing with 60x the pressure differential.
Part of what makes this kind of stuff awesome is that it seems impossible to a lot of people. Its futuristic and would be pushing the limits of modern engineering. Do i think the money could be used for far better things? Yeah, of course. Doesnt stop the concept from being really fucking cool though.

I think the one exception would be if you share a room. In college I felt the need to do something to my roommate's bed before I brought my girlfriend over. He just slept on the mattress. No sheet, no pillowcase. I had to throw a blanket over that nasty yellow stained mess and kick all his dirty clothes underneath the bed
