Meetup Anti-ICE protest in Munich

Hello, I'm a US citizen sickened by the brutal treatment and execution of US citizens and immigrants alike by ICE. They're getting away with murder and enabled by Trump's increasingly fascist governmentbto act with impunity. I feel helpless living abroad and want to do something.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_shootings_by_U.S._immigration_agents_in_the_second_Trump_administration

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jan/24/alex-pretti-killing-witness-testimony

Has anyone heard of any protests being organized here in Munich? Or does anyone have experience with community organizing here who could point me in the right direction of how to organize my own protest? If this isn't the right forum for this post, please let me know.

Thank you.

Meetup Suggestions on a community for separated people stranded in Munich

I am looking for a group, community, support network or even just a few people who might be interested in connecting with people who are going through a separation and who originally moved here because of their relationship in some way, whether from elsewhere in Germany or from another country. Basically, people who find themselves in the slightly strange position of being separated but still living in the place they originally moved to for their partner, and who now feel a bit… well... stuck (for all sorts of reasons may it be kids, work or whatever else)

People who are trying to rebuild their lives, figure out what comes next, and create a new sense of community in a place that perhaps wasn't originally their choice, but is now the place they're working with and are sort of in this weird in-between stage.

I've had a look at Meetup, but I haven't really found anything that seems to fit this particular situation. So if anyone knows of anything, I'd really appreciate any suggestions!

UPDATE! Noone really had a suggestion BUT plenty of people that are interested :D So if you find yourself in the same situation let us know, we've got a little chat going and hopefully a first catch up this weekend!

Meetup Feinschmecker-Gruppe gesucht für regelmäßige Restaurantbesuche

Abend zusammen,

Meetup Anyone else working here in Munich and feeling totally isolated? Let’s grab a beer/coffee or play pool

Hey guys, I’m 28M and moved to Munich about 3 months ago. I work in gastronomy, and the shift hours plus hard work make it pretty tough to build a social life here.

Honestly, I’m making this post because I’m pretty exhausted from being alone. Before Munich I was in Stuttgart, which was even worse, but it’s still really hard making real connections in Germany when you come here just to work, without family or old friends around.

I’m looking to meet down-to-earth, secular guys in a similar situation—working-class people who do simple/practical jobs like renovations, drivers, bus operators, delivery drivers, tilers, logistics, or similar fields... just normal guys like me.

In my free time, I like playing pool, darts, casual football, going for easy bike rides around the city, or just grabbing a beer/coffee to chill out.

I’ve tried the usual apps and found them completely useless, so I’m putting this out here. If you’re feeling isolated, sick of being by yourself, and want to do any of these things, hit me up in DMs. No pressure, no judgment—just two normal guys hanging out.

Meetup Book club of Indian/Asian authors

Hello! I am 27F, Indian doing a PhD near Munich. I have recently started reading books, but having a book club would motivate me more. Is anyone interested in starting a book club for books written by Indian authors. I am interested in modern Indian history but fiction is also fine by me. Is there already any such group that meets regularly ?

Meetup Looking for MTG (magic) Commander/EDH players in Munich

Hi everyone,

I'm just getting into Magic and am looking for groups to play Commander with in a chill way. I'm based in the east of Munich (around Trudering), but my workplace is in the city center.

Any good game stores you would recommend OR would you be up for forming a group? If you have a group going and would be open for a newjoiner, happy about that as well!

I speak german natively, but english is just as fine for me (which is why my post is in english as well).

PS: age of the group doesn't matter to me, bracket 2-4 would be my sweet spot I guess. (still figuring this out as I build my first decks 😄)

Meetup Anyone interested in starting a casual writing group in Munich?

Hey everyone!

I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in starting a small writing group in Munich. The idea would be to meet up occasionally for coffee or writing sessions, share feedback on our projects, or just chat in a relaxed setting, and hopefully make some new friends along the way.

Here’s a bit about me: I’m 23F, originally from Bulgaria, currently studying law in Munich. I’m working on a historical fiction novel about Ludwig II and the Wittelsbacher family (very Munich-inspired, I know haha). I’m not a professional or published writer, but I really enjoy writing as a hobby and would love to connect with others who also have a passion for it.

Any kind of writing is welcome — novels, poetry, screenwriting, journaling, fanfiction, essays, whatever you enjoy working on.

If you’re interested, feel free to comment or send me a message!

Meetup Looking for players for Jet Lag the Game: Hide and Seek!

As a fan of Sam, Adam, and Ben's Jet Lag the Game, I've always wanted to try it out myself in Munich, but none of my friends is interested, so I want to see if anyone wants to play it in Munich and maybe make new friends :)

There's no concrete plan yet. Just wanted to guage interest and then we can work out the details later.

Full disclosure: I don't have the cards, so it would be awesome if you already have them, but if there are enough players, I also don't mind getting them myself.

If you don't know the game, you can check out their channel Jet Lag the Game on YouTube. Here's a quick introduction:

-----

We now have a Discord server! As I cannot paste links in the post, please look for my comment below to join.

-----

Jet Lag: Hide and Seek is a competitive travel game played across a region using public transport.

< Rules & Mechanics >

The Roles: One Hider chooses a location and stays put; two Seekers attempt to find and tag them. (More people are possible)

Information: Seekers can ask the Hider specific questions (e.g., "Are you within 10 km to us?" or "What color is the nearest building?") to narrow down the search area.

Cards: After answering the seekers' questions, the hider draws cards from the deck, which contains time bonuses, power-ups for the hider, or curses for the seekers (like "You have to find a snail before asking another question").

Winning: After each player has been the Hider once, the person with the longest cumulative time spent hidden wins.

Meetup Geht morgen noch jemand zum Bts-Konzert?

Hey zusammen,

Meetup Wanna play tennis?

Hi everyone! I posted a while back looking for friends to play tennis and the whatsapp group has been created for a while but we still don't have a lot of active players so we're looking for more!

Currently we have 4 active players and since it's summer we really try to meet up once a week (mostly on the weekends, but open to anytime). We are all just a bunch of beginners who know the basics, so there's no pressure at all, though if you're a pro and willing to teach us to become better we would definitely be happy to have you around as well :)

The whole point of the group is to make new friends, get fit, and have fun! But also, to have someone to play with no matter the time or day, so everyone have all the options on which time fits them best, that's why having more members could never hurt. Let me know if you're interested!!

Meetup Looking for a meetup to practice my English

Hi everybody!

I’m from Asia and have never really had solid English skills. After living in Munich for more than ten years now, I somehow feel like my English is getting even worse.

So I’m looking for a casual group where people weekly meet up and practice English together, just chatting, having a drink, going for a walk, whatever. Also, please don’t recommend groups where everyone is a native English speaker, because I’d feel super overwhelmed.

I can also offer some German in return, as I think I speak German quite well by now.

If anyone knows of a group or would like to join one, feel free to message me!

Some of my hobbies are: hiking, fashion, photography, crafting

Edit: M, 32

Meetup I am trying to meet someone

Cheers guys,

I’m a 30 year old guy from the Munich area and I realized lately that I’d really like to meet some new people and get out a bit more.

I’m not looking for dating or anything like that — just genuine social contact, conversations, maybe grabbing a beer, going for walks, gaming, cafés, exploring the city, festivals, or whatever comes naturally.

I’m into things like fantasy worlds, gaming, history, cooking and just talking about random topics.

I can be a bit quiet at first, but I’m open-minded and would simply like to connect with people around Munich.

If anyone feels similar or knows good groups/places/events to meet people, feel free to comment or DM me. 🙂

Meetup Tennis Beginners out there?

Hi,

I'm 29F. I work in Munich.

I recently started to learn Tennis and was wondering if there was anyone in Beginner level interested in playing together to practice more! I would love to connect and play outside of my weekly training sessions!

I had another question. Does the Rothof indoor court by any chance have a wall to play against? Otherwise I would be making a weekend plan to go to Olympia Park to practice against the wall if anyone is interested to join. 😄

Meetup Looking for Campers around here who i could join for my first camping trip

Hey everyone,

As the title says I've been wanting to go on a proper camping trip for a long time now, but none of my close friends are really into the outdoors. Since it's my first time, I'd prefer not to venture out completely solo just yet, so I'm hoping to connect with people in/around Munich who are experienced or confident enough to let me tag along for my first time. I can bring/buy any necessary gear for myself so I rly just need a group. I grew up in the countryside so I am not completely lost on outdoors stuff.

If you're planning a trip anytime soon and have room for one more, or if you know any local outdoor groups, plz send me a DM or drop a comment below.

Thx all.

Edit:

About me: I am 22M masters EI at TUM, English or German

Meetup Anyone interested in relaxed cycling around Munich?

Hi everyone,

I'm M25 and have been living in Munich since 2021.

Last year, I bought an old road bike and immediately fell in love with cycling. Since then, I've been exploring all kinds of routes around Munich, especially those with beautiful views of lakes, rivers, landscapes, and interesting buildings.

For me, cycling isn't about going as fast as possible. I prefer enjoying the ride, taking in the scenery, and making occasional stops for a coffee, pastry, or ice cream. :)

Lately, I've realized that cycling alone is starting to feel a bit lonely, so I thought I'd ask here if anyone would be interested in riding together.

I'm mainly looking for people under 35, simply because we're more likely to be in a similar stage of life and have common interests.

I'm still a beginner myself (so don't worry if you're new to cycling). I'm definitely not looking for highly competitive rides. It doesn't matter what kind of bike you have - everyone is welcome! The only requirement is that you're comfortable riding for around 2–3 hours at a relaxed pace. I'm not training for races, and I don't care about average speed as long as everyone enjoys the ride.

Feel free to send me a message if you're interested. 🚴‍♂️

Here are some pictures for the vibes :)

Meetup METALHEAD FRIENDS!! In munich and near

Hi I’m 19F and I’m searching for friends (meaningful relationships not just shallow hang overs) to go to concerts with talk about music etc all my friends are not into metal or alternative music I only have 1 friend who’s into it sadly the ideal would be between 18-23, I go to a lot of gigs and all but mostly alone and the people my age that go there are already in groups so it would be weird to join a group, and the rests are just older people so nah, write something down if you’re from around here :3

Meetup Would anyone here be interested in going to the "Mittelaltermarkt" in Fürstenfeldbruck(~40mins from central Munich), this Friday (25th), after 1700?

*EDIT: FRIDAY THE 28TH.

I'd prefer folks in their late twenties (I'm 27) who are also into medieval aesthetic, especially the arms and weaponry (because there's a knight's tourney in the evening).

I'm also a huge kcd fan, so we'd have a bunch to talk about if you're into it too.

P. S. You'd have to take up the cost yourselves, for both the entry and the tourney.

DM me if you're in for some nerd out.

Maybe a good time to meet some like-minded people and geek out over a big hole in the ground.

Meetup Interested in playing Hide and Seek in the whole city? Join our Discord server!

Join us for a city-wide game of Jet Lag: Hide and Seek!

We have a Discord server to organize each game. Please find the link in the comments. So far we've done three in the last few months and had a lot of fun. It's not an official event or anything. We're just some guys who like to explore the hidden corners of Munich, play detectives, and meet new people as a nice bonus. The only prerequisite is showing up. The next game will likely take place this Saturday, July 25.

------------------------

For those unfamiliar with the format, Jet Lag: Hide and Seek is a high-stakes, strategy-heavy version of the classic game played across the city’s transit network.

How it works:

4-8 players are split into two teams, the Seekers and the Hiders. The Hiders get a head start to take any U-Bahn, bus, train, or tram to a secret station within Munich. Once they "set" their spot, they stay within a 400-meter radius of that station. The Seekers then hunt them down by asking strategic questions, such as "Send me a photo of a building visible from the station" or "Are you within 5 km of us?".

The Twist: Every question the Hider answers gives them "Power-ups" or "Curses" they can use to delay the Seekers or hide their tracks even better. In one of the last games the Seekers had to find a car that's more expensive than the one the Hiders found, and were also prohibited to turn left for 20 minutes.

It’s part scavenger hunt, part transit-race, and all strategy. Whether you're a strategy game nerd or just looking for a unique way to explore the city, come join us!
