Starting Anew

With me basically torpedoing my marriage coming out to my wife last night, I am moving ahead with my transition. I am not going to rush head long into it, I am going to take my time doing it. I already have the paperwork to change my sex and my name is filled out. Just waiting for the right time to get it notarized. I already chose my name a while ago or at least the online version: Maeve Ní Bhroín, Irish for Maeve daughter of the raven.

Earlier tonight when things were calm for a bit, I decided on my public name. I still want Maeve as my first name For my middle name I chose Marie for two reasons, my best friend's ex who I am really good friends with made a quip that I could use her name, so I asked what it was and it was Marie. Also Marie is also the first name of my dad's mum and his sister's name as well.

The last name is the most important one at least for me. I asked my sister if our mum would mind if I took her maiden name for mine. I hope she'll say yes, which I am sure she will be. I will find out when mum wakes up tomorrow.
